I ordered this as a replacement for a previous Dyson model. We got of to a great start out of the box and what I love is Dyson considers you might be replacing or upgrading in the design of the mount. While it uses a different mounting bracket than my previous model, the screws for the bracket line up with the previous one so you don't have to drill new holes. This vacuum is outstanding. It's quiet yet has so much power. It comes with two batteries which is a huge plus. There is nothing more annoying than not being able to finish vacuuming because the battery died. That won't happen with this Dyson. Each battery last 1 hour so you get two hours of operation. I have yet to find another vacuum that compares. The tools it comes with are excellent. It’s great for pets and picks up all pet hair. It has a digital read out telling you how many minutes you have left on a charge and it allows you to select the power from echo, to normal, to a boost. I have no complaints. If I had to come up with a criticism it would be the directions are a bit weak and I'm not sure where or how to mount all the tools but that is so very minor. This vacuum is so handy for simple clean ups to completely vacuuming your floors/area rugs. Absolutely a great product. I am glad I made this selection.

dyson is great but best buy the worst cant get any help

After using for a couple months, (I've kept up on filter cleaning as well), the Dyson smells horrible when using it. We have pets, which is why I purchased the Dyson, but the entire home smells like a wet dog after I use the vacuum. After discovering this disgusting issue, I have found that many other users have this issue as well. I've done all of the maintenance as suggested in the manual. The dust bin also does not empty without me needing to stick my hand up and physically pull down the dog hair and dirt that gets clumped around the unit - nasty! I have to swallow that I just wasted over $700 for a couple months use on a vacuum.

Buyer beware. Great for carpet, but can scratch and or damage hardware floors. The little wheels on this are sharp cheap plastic and there's no way to replace them to better ones with rubber. Would not recommend.

Great vacuum. Lightweight and easy to manuver with the power of a corded vacuum. Mine came with 2 batteries which is great for a big house or if I want to use high velocity mode for certain areas.

So 5 years ago I purchased the dyson animal. Well fast forward and it’s little canister just can keep with with 3 dogs so I figured it was time for an upgrade. So we purchased the dyson v11 oversized. I had already made up my mind that if I didn’t love it i was quickly returning it. Upon bringing it home I really liked how it came with new attachments. The machine itself is yes much bigger and bulkier but it’s not uncomfortable to push around the house. It very easily changed from carpet to hardwood no problem. The suction is great and if needed the boost really goes into overdrive. I like how it has so smart features such as reminders to clean your filter. I haven’t needed to use both yet but I love how it comes with two batteries. My old dyson dies after 15 mins of use and I have to either pick rooms to vacuum or sweep them vacuum and it becomes so much more work. Overall I am in love with this vacuum and did i mention it’s quieter so my dogs aren’t going crazy over it. I love how the dyson has the touch less and bagless systems.

Within two minutes of use, the brush head stopped working. No one at Dyson is answering their contact number but the chatbot helped me figure out the brush head motor failed. There was a pop-up to ship me a new brush head but at this price, it's going back and I'll try a new one because I need a vacuum today.

Full disclosure, I received this product as a demo/test unit in order to provide my honest review. Considering that we currently have, and have had, many, many vacuums I had high hopes for this unit and was not disappointed. We have 4 pets and have used robot vacuums, corded vacuums, cordless vacuums, handheld vacuums, and more, all with varying degrees of success. For a cordless vacuum, this Dyson has GREAT suction power. One of the things that impressed me the most was the smaller upholstery attachment brush continued spinning regardless of the type of furniture I used it on. I cannot say this for any of my other vacuums. The attachment brush would always stop spinning when applied to the upholstery. The readout on the top panel detailing the amount of time remaining using the current mode is useful. What is also useful is the auto-switching of suction power based on the type of floor you're vacuuming. We have a robot vacuum that does the same thing, but it's really nice to have it in a larger floor vacuum. I appreciate all the attachments but the main brush is large enough to make quick work out of our hallways and area rugs. Also really looking forward to using this in our car. Overall, this is a great product and I would highly recommend it.

Poor suction. I needed replacement parts but Dyson does not even make this machine anymore so I have to wait over 6+ months for a part and cannot even use the machine without it. Can Bestbuy take this back in exchange for an active model?

The Dyson V11 Outside vacuum is the best vacuum I've ever owned, beating out the previous stick and upright vacuums from the same company that I've previously used. I won't talk about suction power, ease of use, or the professional feel of the vacuum; mainly due to this being what Dyson vacuums are already known for. What I will tell you about are the smart features Dyson's latest stick and why they make a difference in certain situations. First up, the inclusion of two full-size batteries is great, along with two chargers. This means you'll never have an issue running out of battery life during a clean. The batteries themselves last for a long time in Normal mode, with my cleaning throughout the past week-plus only draining one-and-a-half batteries using it every day for at least six minutes. This is a huge draw of this vacuum and I commend Dyson's efforts to get the most battery life with powerful suction. Moving on, the smart floor technology, dubbed Dyson Dynamic Load Sensor, is pretty neat. The vacuum automatically detects and adjusts suction power for differing surfaces, making it easy for us with hardwood and carpet or rugs together to switch between them without any loss of power. I found this feature to work great, and not be a gimmick. The V11 Outside Tech also uses a full-size cleaner head and full-size bin, which makes the vacuum a little more cumbersome than previous sticks of theirs, but the tradeoff is less time cleaning. I really appreciated this portion. This wouldn't really matter if there wasn't a powerful motor behind the suction, but there is. Dyson Hyperdymium, as they call it, is a new technology that improves performance across the board, and I believe this to be true. I actually think the V11 Outside Tech cleans better than my four-year-old Dyson Animal 2 Ball upright vacuum. Plus, the motor is really quiet for how much power there is, and this was appreciated. To top everything off, the V11 Outside Tech even has an LCD screen to clearly show you the battery life remaining. It also comes with numerous attachments to make cleaning your whole home, car, etc. easier. Overall, I wouldn't trade this vacuum for any other, currently. Between it taking care of my child's, cat's and my own messes, this is one of my favorite pieces of technology and cleaning that I now own.

Not to happy don’t buy this item it sucks buy a skark it’s a lot better

This cordless vacuum has everything that I could have imagined - and more. For starters, this thing has all the power of a corded vacuum, but with the benefit of being cordless. There is more than enough power to get through the whole home with the battery life on this one. The digital display shows the estimated time remaining - which adjusts based on the type of vacuuming you are doing. There is also a spare battery. I particularly like that I can clean any surface in the home (wood floor, tile, carpet) - and it completely gets all of the pet hair without my allergies kicking in. While vacuuming the carpeted surfaces used to be off-limits for me, I can get through the whole home without an issue - the filtration is that good - I am not affected at all. It is also fast to use since the cleaning head is as wide as a corded vacuum and because the vacuum automatically senses and kicks into "turbo mode" when you go from smooth surface to carpet. Before getting this cordless Dyson unit, we had been using a Shark cordless vac for a couple years. The Shark does not compare in any way, including the fact that the bin on the Shark filled up quickly - and that it did not do well on carpets. This Dyson unit has power to spare, a bin large enough to support a whole house clean, plenty of battery life (plus a spare battery), great "pet performance", great filtration (allergies), and plenty of attachments. I could not be happier with this unit. It really is quite impressive...

I don't usually write reviews about vacuums. That is how impressed I am with this vacuum. It's futuristic, sleek, and lightweight. I read there is a smaller version of this vacuum? I am not sure, but this is my kind of size. Big enough to vacuum my living room (carpet and tiles) and compact enough to vacuum my car in the driveway. 120 minutes of run time. You'll first have to charge up to 100% or 4.5 hrs. The vacuum cleaner came with two batteries. An additional click-in battery. It is 120 minutes of battery life as well. The vacuum came with a lot of different accessories. I cannot name them all, but it is definitely enough for portable and inhouse cleaning. The "High Torque XL" which is a load sensor helps it adapt to different floor types. It has a very animated LCD screen right behind the vacuum, looks very cool. The best part is the "Point and Shoot" bin orientation. I literally pull the red lever underneath the vacuum and like magic all the dust, hairs, pet hairs, etc is out. I did not have to put my hand inside or get my hands dirty. Looked very futuristic. My girlfriend loves this vacuum. I recommend it to anyone looking for an easy to use a vacuum with good power.

This machine is absolutely great, but it is quite large and heavy. I personally don't have a problem with the weight or size, as I am a fairly large individual, but smaller people may struggle with using this machine. I would recommend you try it out before you buy it to see if it works for you. It comes with two batteries and two chargers, but there is no way to wall mount the second battery. Instead, you have to just place it on the floor. Also, there is no way to know what the charge is on the second battery. There is only a blinking light that turn off when it's fully charged. The balance of the vacuum is shifted quite a bit forward. This puts a lot of torque on the wrist while using it in handheld mode. I do wish they had added more weight behind the handle. They could have done so by adding a bigger battery. A heads up, his thing is quite difficult to use on stairs due to its size. A flexible powered hose would have been very useful. Due to its weight, you have to grip it quite tightly. I wish Dyson would finally add a rubberized grip. There are more issues, but they are nitpicks. These are the main ones.

Worth every penny. Read so many reviews before buying thought about purchasing for months. Improves quality of life. 100% recommended.

PROS: 1. Convenient holder-charger 2. Nice set of attachments CONS 1. Impossible to really clean - instructions for filter will not give complete cleaning (look on line), and other parts require disassembly that is a pain (but needs to be done periodically) (instructions NOT in manual or on Dyson website -- requires web search and special tools). 2. Does not have suction equal to my 30 year old Panasonic compact cannister in which I can change both the bag and secondary filter in 1 min. 3. All this for nearly $400????
