Dyson makes quality products and stands by their vacuum with a warranty for 2 years. This is one powerful machine that has 3 different power settings. It also has a automatic carpet and bare floor mode that automatically detects what kind of floor it’s on. Catch it on sale because it’s not cheap.

It works very well on hardwood floors as well. But I'm a little disappointed for the price it lacks power and when you set it into boost mode you only get 10-15 minutes on a full charge. The price for this product is slightly demanding you're mainly paying for the technology that has been inputted into this device. I would only recommend this product if it got a price cut and you don't mind using it as your main vacuum. Pros are that its cordless.

I was happy to hear how pleased you have been, thus far in your use, with how well the Dyson V11 Torque Drive cord-free vacuum works on small messes, hardwood floors and your thinner carpeting. The cleaner head features an integrated digital motor which spins the brush bar up to 60 times a second. It drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to remove dirt, and carbon fiber filaments capture fine dust on hard floors.
The Torque Drive has an advanced LCD screen display which monitors system performance 8,000 times a second, then reports back in real time. You'll receive notifications of blockages, have a real-time countdown mode alerting you to remaining battery life in the mode you're using, and you'll also see filter alerts, letting you know it's time to clean your filter. Please keep in mind that your machine will offer three suction modes for use with cleaning around your home. As a result, we would not expect you to require using the MAX suction setting for everyday cleaning, as it is only intended for use with tough cleaning jobs and also provides the least amount of run time, while providing additional power for the job. Depending on which mode you're vacuuming in, and which flooring surface - carpeting or bare floors- you can expect run times varying from 5 minutes up to one hour.

Granted it was not cheap, but the quality is there. I come from a family that swore by Electrolux, but they are lacking in this style of vacuum. I needed something that I could clean my apartment with, and then also clean my car. This is perfect.

I also like that you can use on your hardwood floor at my house I have carpet and hardwood so immediately once I get off the carpet it changes to A lower mode so it’s not hard on the hardwood floor.

Everyone in my house adults and kids aged 6 and up use it with ease! We even use the attachments to clean out the car!! The higher power mode is amazing and sucks up dirt that I didn't even know was trapped in the carpet!! Worth every penny!

Also, the extension hose was located on the SIDE of the vacuum cleaner, which is COMPLETELY STUPID! Did the Design engineers at Dirt Devil understand that a vacuum cleaner rolls FORWARD and BACKWARDS?! Not, SIDEWAYS?! So every time I had to use the extension hose and move the vacuum cleaner, guess what, the vacuum cleaner TIPPED OVER!! So, I decided the only solution was to go Cordless, and did my research as usual . I finally purchased the Dyson - V11 Torque Drive Cord Free vacuum. The engineers did an OUTSTANDING JOB of designing their cordless vacuums! Not only is this vacuum cleaner very portable, the sound is very quiet! Not a loud roaring noise like a Stand Up vacuum, but a “Humming” noise, which is actually very pleasing! On to the performance; Very strong suction , a variety of attachments to choose from, the “Dial” on top of the canister tells the user how much battery life is left, when to change the filter, and if there’s a problem with the performance of the motor. And speaking of the filter, it’s removable and cleanable. I would definitely recommend this cordless vacuum cleaner! The only reason I gave a 3 Star rating for “Value” was the price, however, when it comes to Electronics, yo do get what you pay for.
