Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We have multiple types of of floor coverings, tile, hardwood, plush carpet, short nap carpet, etc. The Dyson works extremely well on all surfaces but the plush carpet, it just couldn't handle the "terrain" too soft. One other item of note is there is no lock mechanism for the "power trigger" so you have to maintain continual pressure for the unit to operate. Doesn't sound like much except when you do a lot of vacuuming at once it takes a toll.

It picks up a lot more dust/hair/particles. It does not blow out any residue while you're suctioning. The only downside I have is when we empty the container. There is no way to empty it without having some of the dust floating and spreading as you empty it. Samsung has a vacuum and a trashcan that will empty into it directly to minimize how much dust escapes when you empty it. Wish Dyson had something like this.

Pretty decent

This one is always clogging up. this is my second stick vac in four years and also an upright corded one ive been through. Battery life on this one is decent compared to the last and I like how it switches onto different surfaces but this might be my last dyson due to the cost and life term of the units ive gotten. If you have the money to spend to get a new one every couple years they are great.
