Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the lightweight design, powerful suction, and ease of use as significant advantages of the V12 Detect Slim Cordless Vacuum. Many appreciate the long battery life and the laser feature, which helps to highlight dust and debris. However, some users point out that the dustbin is on the smaller side and that the price point may be a deterrent for some buyers. A few also noted concerns about filter maintenance.

I love it! The only 2 things I don’t like is the life usage of the battery, and that I can’t buy a new filter for it.

If you have hard floors look no further. This is the #1 option there is for sweeping your floor. The attachments are a plus. Only knock is the battery life and how slow it charges. If you are using it daily it’s probably where it shines. Moderate amount of cleaning time at best. So if it’s going to be use that way it’s more than capable. If you want the laser to work best you are going to have to be doing some cleaning in the dark. Which isn’t as bad as it sounds.

Very versatile vacuum. Easy to use around small/medium size apartments. This is not a self cleaning vacuum. Cleaning A/C vents and vacuuming my car has never been so easy with this Dyson. Carpet attachment works great. Hard floor laser attachment helps a lot during low light hours. Dust its more visible.

Love this vacuum, it's lightweight and the green light shows every spec of dust on the floor. The button stays on, no need to keep your finger on the control. So easy to use, I bought some as gifts too!

So far so good...We have used Dyson vacuums in the past and this one lives up to their name. The laser on the fluffy head is really cool, you wouldn't believe how much stuff is still on the floor have a quick sweep or pass by our Roomba. Overall the power, lightweight, and cool features make this one worth it to us and is a great compliment to our i7.

If I’m honest it’s one of the best vacuums I’ve ever owned I would never think of getting a different one. I recommend this vacuum! For someone who loves to clean their car as much as I do Dyson offers a selection of adapters that makes it vacuum even better!

This is my first Dyson vacuum. I don’t think I can use any other brand after this experience. Due to prior negative experiences with stick vacuums from other brands, I did not have high hopes. The price is high, but I can confirm that you get what you pay for when it comes to vacuums. The amount of dust, dirt, hair, and whatever else in the cup was shocking to me because I live alone and cleaned relatively recently. It picked up so much stuff that my upright machine apparently missed. There is a massive amount of power crammed into the small size. I constantly get lint from my dark towels on the light carpet. My other stick vacuum is unable to pick it up. The upright gets most of it, but this Dyson gets all of it. Then, to make it even better, this vacuum is extremely quiet (as far as vacuums go). It is seriously quieter than my little handheld vacuum, yet it has a much stronger suction. The battery is also impressive because it takes me about 20 minutes to get through my entire apartment between carpet and hardwood. In that time, I always used a floor brush, and I had the machine set to “Auto” so it speeds up anytime it senses the need for boosted power. The battery had about 11 minutes left when I was done. It does take a while to charge the battery, but that is expected for the amount of power is contains. There is no quick charging for something with that type of capacity. For anyone in a smaller home or an apartment, it has plenty of capacity. Unless a person normally completes all of their vacuuming in under 30 minutes, they would either need another battery, or they should consider a bigger machine. For me, it is perfect. When I first realized that there were two different types of floor brushes, I was a bit annoyed because who wants to switch brushes when transitioning from carpet to hard floors? By time I was done, I believe it is worth the minor inconvenience. The carpet brush is powerful and it does an amazing job on carpet. The hard floor brush is just as good on the hard floors. I was a little skeptical of the laser, but it really does make dirt appear that I am not able to see just by looking down at the floor. It does not work great in bright light, but it makes the dirt light up bright in a dark or room with softer lighting. I really like how close the edge of the brush is to the front of the outer housing. This allows the brush and suction to get really close to edges. In many vacuums, the brush is at least an inch or two back from the front edge, so dirt gets missed on the perimeter. Anytime I hit a pocket of increased dirt, like right by the entryway and corners by doors, the motor automatically speeds up to suck up every last bit of dirt it can find. Then, it slows back down to a normal speed to conserve the battery, while still doing a great job. The display on the back shows how many particles of each category have been vacuumed into the machine. I am not sure how this is useful, but I guess my horrible allergies appreciate the millions of tiny particles that were caught today. It occurred to me that my allergies are not flaring like they were prior to testing out this vacuum. It could just be coincidence, but I know for sure that my home is much cleaner. When done vacuuming, the process to empty the dirt cup is innovative. Pushing a button causes the door to open and the entire cup slides forward. This sliding action has two important benefits. First, the cup scrapes the internal screen to remove the lint stuck to it. Second, it is much easier to remove the lint because the cup is forward of the internal cylinder/filter. Every other cyclone style vacuum is a pain to empty because I must usually reach in and pull lint out that gets stuck between the internal cylinder and the clear outer shell. This design makes it so much easier to empty! My one minor complaint is that the front intake ends up covered in dust when the process is complete. I turned on the vacuum for a few seconds and brushed the lint off. While solved, I would prefer a design where I can completely avoid dust on the outside of the machine. The only true concern I have is that the plastic connections on the extension tube look like there might be some cracks inside. None of it comes up to the surface, so it might just be a visual defect. If they are legitimately cracked, it is going to break. Hopefully it is purely the look and nothing else. I expect high quality in those details for the price being paid. With that, I think they are trying to make everything as light as possible, so a person’s arm does not get tired. They definitely kept an eye on the weight because it is really reasonable. My arm gets a bigger workout pushing my upright machine around, so this stick vacuum is a pleasure to use.

    Weak build

The vacuum itself was good easy to use and light weight. Unfortunately there is a builder error. The pin that holds the stick in place is very weak and snaps easily causing the stick to become wobbly while vacuuming. For a vacuum that is nearly $1000 it should be built better and not be so fragile. I thought maybe it was just bad luck so i returned it and got a new one (absolutely buy the protection plan if you buy this model you will need it). Within a couple weeks the same thing happened to the new vacuum. We returned it again and went with a shark vacuum, fingers crossed we have no more issues

Bought this vacuum because I have laminate floors and a few rugs with dogs that like to shed more than the size of their little bodies. This thing picks up the hair the dirt the stuff I didn’t know was there. Honestly I’ve recommended it a lot of people already.

Impressive lightweight power vacuum! I bought it as my wife was complaining about the V111 model we have is rather quite heavy. It’s being used more than I thought with only draw back is canister is quite small but don’t mind emptying it to reuse it though

I have a dog that sheds a lot, so very often I have to vacuum floors and carpets, and pull tons of hair. I had a roomba to do the job and did it very well so far. I heard about dyson vacuums and thought of giving it a try. The first time I used the dyson V12 I pre vacuumed my apartment with my roomba. I used then later the dyson to vacuum the same floors and I was astonished with the amout of dust and hair it pulled. 4 full tanks from a pre vacummed 1BR apartment. Yes, I would recommend this vacuum to any pet owner that deal with lots of hair. Did I mentioned that you don't have to deal with hair tangled? 5-stars.
