Nice but broken out of box

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was not impressed with it’s initial performance until I realized it was due to a faulty part, the stem attachment that also carries current to the end pieces didn’t maintain continuity. So, brushes weren’t spinning, lights weren’t lighting… my return window closed before I realized (thanks BB for taking away my 1 year window) so I had to rely on Dyson support. They took a while to confirm my diagnosis and then told me the part was out of stock so I don’t know how long I will be sitting in my own filth. Hopefully they send it soon so I can update my review.

Dyson Disappoints with Pet Hair Performance

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been a Dyson owner for more than 15-years and when we got our first dog (a golden retriever), I thought a new vacuum was in order. Naturally, I went with a Dyson due to its quality and overall performance. Packaging and presentation is great. But, the performance is what really matters, right? After fully charging the battery, I started to vacuum our HW floors. What I noticed was the vacuum in Eco mode had “not to great” suction power. When switched to “high,” it’s a bit stronger but nowhere near a plug-in. Battery life is typical to all the other cordless vacuums on the market. But, as the battery starts to deplete, so does the power. I was sincerely disappointed with this vacuum. What’s worse is I missed the window to return it. This makes me feel even more upset since it was barely used and I wanted to trade it in for a plug-in. A word to the wise. If you have a dog that sheds, you will want a plug-in vacuum. Personally, I vacuum 2-3X per day. I can’t stand pet dander on dark HW floors. Especially since my Golden is an English Cream. Enjoy!

Thankfully I had got the Geek Squad protection.

I reached out to customer support and on a video call demonstrated the item was broken. For a warranty return you have a choice: they ship the replacement part or you ship back your unit and wait for them to receive it and ship you a new one. Replacement part was out of stock, so I had no choice but to ship them the unit and wait. It has been over 3 weeks now and no replacement and every time I call for an update, I get put on intermittent holds with no resolution after an hour. How am I suppose to clean my house? Dyson needs to update this process. For example, when you upgrade your phone, you have 30 days to send in the old one. Why then after a video call demonstrated my unit was inoperable, couldn't they immediately ship me a new one and charge me if my defective unit never arrived? Very disappointed that I spent so much on a product that lasted less than a year!
