    Dyson v15 Detect Extra Cordless Vacuum

    So I received my Dyson v15 Detect Extra Cordless Vacuum about a week ago and have been putting it through its paces. Now I must say, I've own a couple of Dyson products in the past, and have come to expect a level of quality from the company. Unboxing the v15 Detect Extra, you will find the following: * Dyson v15 Extra Cordless Vacuum * Wand * Combination Tool * Hair Screw Tool * Reach Under Tool * Lighted Pipe Crevice Tool * Soft Dusting Brush Tool * Digital Motorbar Tool * Fluffy Optic Cleaner Tool * Docking Station * Charger * Wand Clip * Owner's Manual Before the first use, its best to utilize the included charger and charge that baby up first. Meanwhile, familiarize yourself with the number of different attachments included. Once it was fully charged, it was ready for use. When powered on via the trigger button, the small display on the back of the filter cup lights up. Using the button below the display, you can enter the menu by simply holding down the button for 3 seconds and change to settings to your liking. Not a dealbreaker but I would have liked a dedicated back button to get out of the menu as well. However, the one button is really useful. Just tapping the button once, will allow you to change the suction of the vacuum from low, medium, to high. While on the low setting, you will get the longest use per charge, medium will net you average usage time, and high suction the battery with drain a bit faster. This is my 3rd Dyson vacuum, and the best one yet. The power of the suction even on the low setting is simply amazing. You can use this on your carpets, rugs, and simply transfer over to hardwood and tile. The main roller bases and the crevice tool all produce a green light that illuminates your floor to ensure you catch all of the crumbs and dust bunnies around. The attachments included can be used on the stairs, windowblinds, and ceiling fans. This is an amazing stick vacuum, and I don't know of another brand that could come close to a Dyson. Highly recommended. Your house will be clean in no time.

    Never Again

    I will never again waste my money on a Dyson. For the price, I expected much better in terms of quality and support. In the short few months I've owned this vacuum one of the heads has broken and the replacement is out of stock (Dyson will replace it under warranty when it's available), and it's quit working intermittently. It will run for a few seconds, shut off, then begin running again, shut off, begin, shut off, 5 or 6 times before running consistently. Dyson doesn't have a fix for thia issue. It's unreal. The support is truly lacking.

    Not worth the money. We returned it after 1 month. Battery life too short. Trigger requires holding. It seems to lack suction power, and requires longer focus to remove dust

    Beware-replacement parts availability

    This is a great vacuum with one major flaw, Dyson parts availability. We have had this for a bit over a year and recently our wand became inoperable. We looked on the Dyson website and the wands were out of stock. We called and were told they didn’t know when they would be back in stock. After a bit of reading this seems like a common problem and it’s unfortunately unlikely they will be back in stock. Without a supply of replacement parts this unit just isn’t worth the price, for us, even though it was a very nice vacuum when everything worked.

    I bought this item expecting it to be the best vacuum I’ve ever bought in my life I mean, that’s what all the reviews always said. But I was very disappointed. The battery life when fully charged you get 15 minutes at best and that’s on medium speed. If you use the high-power, it’s five minutes at best! Very disappointed. Plus, it won’t even pick up everything off my carpet and will definitely not pick up the dog hair off my couches. Needless to say I will be returning this.

    Avoid this Vacuuum

    Weve almost had this vacuum for a year now, and we're disappointed. The first 3/6mo it was as expected but then issues began. First the digital motor bar broke. It is fairly difficult to actual get in touch with Dysons warrenty department. Its done through a messaging service. Dyson first tried to deny the warranty for the brush bar but eventually agreed to replace the part($120 part). We then noticed the plastic broke on the hindge for the hard floor brush bar, so it kind wobbles around. The retaining ring inside the dust bin also broke. The machine also has an issue with first stsrting up. It will run for a few seconds and then turn off, itll so this 3 or 4 times before it will remain on. Weve kept up with all the maintenance too. So to sum this up, the machine is expensive, unreliable, poor build quality and the warrenty department is hard to get in touch with and will most likely attempt to deny the claim. Also, the digital motor bar they agreed to replace is out of stock...so yea...been waiting 2mo for that too.

    Weve had this vac for a little over a year. It’s just gimmicky, and just doesn’t last. I purchased it for my wife just because I thought it would make her life easier, but it just provides all kinds of frustration. It loses suction because the dirt ends up coating the tube and dirt container… and seems like we are constantly trying to troubleshoot it. Wish it was better than our old stains… but it’s not.

    The battery didn’t last nearly as long as we had hoped and then it takes a very long time to charge. For how much this cost I would think they would have a battery we can switch out or something that doesn’t take a full day to vacuum the whole house due to the battery.

    Battery pack issues

    Did a good job on hard floors, especially like the light for illuminating pet hair and debris. Did not like how we had to change the head switch between carpet and hard floors, it kind of negates the advantage of being cordless. We ended up having to return because the battery pack started falling out of the unit and eventually we could not get it to "click" in at all and so it stopped working. This was after 7 days of owning it. I would not recommend, especially at this high price point. I'm sure you can do just as good for under $200.

    Definitely get Geek squad protection

    This is my third Dyson (my second Dyson cordless). Best Buy protection is highly recommended because if there is an issue they will replace the machine. I found Dyson customer service horrible, they would not honor their warranty on an accessory that is malfunctioning. They tried to deny there is anything wrong with an accessory that is obviously not working. This will definitely be my last Dyson. They use to be great.

    Protection plan is a scam!!!

    Purchased the five-year protection plan. Within four months one part Broke. They replaced the vacuum, which is nice but told me I have to buy a new protection plan. That seems like a scam to me. Like paying for a warranty on a car and something breaking and you gotta pay for the whole new warranty again. I thought I had five years.

    Dead on arrival

    Unboxed and does not charge. Bought the vacuum a month ago but did not get the time to set it up until today, so I'm unable to return the item. Contacted support for a replacement battery, but I expected better quality control for a $600 vacuum.

    Battery not compatible with EU power network

    Before our purchase, we asked Dyson if the product could be used in Europe. The answer was yes because the battery is dual voltage. We used the product without any problems in the US but it does not work with the European electricity.
