I am a Disabled Vet in a wheelchair, I have several Vacuums from IRobot's to a Red Devil. but this has all I am looking for in a vacuum, light weight and small enough to carry around to get where the problem is without frightening the lil dogs and cat. The tools give the power to take on big jobs when I need too!! So far it has been a privilege to limber it up and get the work done (and to think, "No chords to be confined too!!" The best money I have spent, thank-you BestBuy for being there for what I needed!

Like it very much light weight makes it quick and easy to use, But the Big Down Fall of the Stick is the battery which is not removable and does not last very long before it needs to be charged should have a removable and should come with 2 battery's.

Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the Dyson V6 Absolute. I am pleased to hear you are satisfied with the weight and ease of use.

The Dyson range of cordless have a removable battery. The Dyson V6 is no different. The battery is held in place by a set of screws. It does take 3.5 hours for a full charge. Once fully charged it will get 20 minutes of run time in standard mode and 6 minutes in MAX as advertised.

We would value the opportunity to learn more about your experience. Please contact us at askdysonUS@dyson.com with your serial number, description of issue or concern and your contact information and we will be happy to help.

This was a Mother’s Day gift which happens to be tomorrow. I was very disappointed that the box arrived damaged. But I was angry when I realized it was shipped from Best Buy already damaged. How do I know? Because there is Best Buy printed inspection tape all over the damaged area of the box. Unacceptable! And even more angry when customer service said they could not replace it at this time, my only choice was to return. Ridiculous.

It is a Dyson! I have used an old one of these before and they still pick up stuff that many new vacuums don't... even when you are doing a price point comparison. I have been eyeballing the canister version for a while, however, I just moved to the SF Bay Area into a ity-bity living space (miss you Robin Williams!!!). The Dyson V6 Absolute Cordless... absolutely no disappointments with its function/capabilities vs the canister or uprights versions. The direct drive head doesn't have the same spring articulated mechanism as the uprights... but that is ok... it will suck it up anyways. Not quite as allergy friendly as the uprights either. When I use it my air cleaner kicks on to a faster speed because it detects the increased dust in the air. The Dyson Animal I used while I had the same air cleaner didn't seem to set it off. Not quite as balanced as described with any of the powered/turbine heads attached. However, with the brush and crevice tools attached, it is much closer to being balanced. The brushed motorhead works well on carpet and hard floors. Be careful on runners and loose rugs/etc as, mentioned previously, this thing will suck anything up including them. The "fluffy" motorhead works great on hard floors, I however don't use it as much since I have fluffy animals which makes the "fluffy" head something else to get pet hair out of. The reason for the sans one star is because all of the accessories it comes with doesn't neatly store onto the storage bracket it comes with. This neat and tidy looking thing, sadly leaves me wanting when it comes to putting it away after cleaning my house. The other reason is the canister... pet hair and dust/dirt gets sucks in places that are hard to clean out and will start to make this look like it is out of some 80s scifi movie. Quick pros and cons... Pros: It sucks... up everything! (even w/o pushing the "MAX" button) Lightweight... and balanced enough to not be too awkward to use overhead Battery lasts long enough to get through a 700sq ft apartment with long haired animals Less bulky/awkward than the uprights, I can get under furniture where the Uprights can't Did I mention it sucks up everything? Cons: Around the same price as its corded, slightly more capable siblings Storage caddy doesn't store everything... or even half of everything it comes with Canister is hard to clean (and a tad small) Power cord is shorter than desired Not as allergy friendly (but really not that bad either) My last two cents on the matter... if you don't have storage space because you live in tight quarters, this is awesome (aside from the clutter of accessories). If you have the room to store an upright but don't want the bulk of the ball/canister for tighter places to clean, get the canister. If allergens are a huge concern, they have allergy friendly versions but I think their upright or canister versions would probably do you just fine.

Great Vaccum for a smaller house

We previously had a Shark Rotator. It's big, bulky, and sometimes smelled a bit funky. (even after washing the filters) couldn't get under many obstacles, but did the job. This seemed like the perfect solution for our (~1200 sq ft) house, and it really is. We can literally get every inch under our king bed, and the battery (although unimpressive) will last to get the entire house. Attachments are perfect, (especially for hardwoods!) and this seems to out perform the shark. 4 stars because of the horrible idea to not have a removable battery, the short battery life, (although we haven't really had a problem with it to be honest) and the small waste container. Although these issues exist on this vaccum, I have 0 buyers remorse and am very happy with it. If you're considering buying one, I say go for it. Check the return policy for you, and if it doesn't fit your needs, return it. Worth a shot, 100%.

    Outstanding Portable Vacuum

This vacuum performs exactly as every review presents it... Great suction, portability, and cleaning ability. Battery life isn't awesome, but we've been getting a little better run time than expected. The high suction setting really brings usage time down, but in normal mode, we can get two to three big rooms done at a time. Dust bin fills up really fast, but I suppose that means it's working well... Haven't had anything break on it, so good durability. The filter does seem to collect a lot of dust and hair and it is pretty tough to clean it as other reviewers have stated, but it's not hard to stick something in there to pull the coated dust off... All in all, I feel it's worth the high price...

If I had a choice, I would have gone with a less expensive brand. However, my wife insisted on buying a Dyson. It is a solid product. Don't get me wrong. But considering the price point, again I would have lived a few hundred dollars richer with a less shiny vacuum. Well, I guess if my wife is willing to not question my notebook choices then I shouldn't question her vacuum choices. Also, to give her credit, she has taken over vacuuming duties since we got this one. Ok, enough ranting. Pros: The hand held design provides convenience. The battery powered design provides portability. The large selection of attachments makes it easy to use the vacuum in pretty much any situation. The design stands out., Cons: Price point is high. The dust bin is small. Runs for about 15-20 minutes on a charge. It is still a bit heavy.

This is my second purchase of a Dyson cordless vacuum, and I would buy another one in a heartbeat (if I had to). My previous Dyson was the simplest handheld version without any special attachments; plus, after 5 years of use, the battery was not performing well anymore and the turbo mode "MAX" button somehow got stuck. Even though, I was mightily pleased with all the use I got out of it. Enter Dyson V6 Absolute: - Very easy to vacuum any type of floor due to its long tube - Highly maneuverable mechanized heads (one for carpet and one for hard floors) - Almost 20 minutes of continuous vacuuming - Lightweight - Powerful suction - Cordless design allows you to use it with a moment's notice anywhere in the apartment / house - Very good at picking up any sized dirt particles, pet hair from both carpet and hard floor - BEST OF ALL: You get to see how much dirt you are collecting in real time!!! (the dust collection compartment is transparent) You might be surprised how much dust is hiding in your carpet... The only downside I suspect is that the mechanized heads and the pivot could be damaged if you bump them too hard on an obstacle. It hasn't happened me, but they are plastic, so who knows... Also, the battery (like any battery) will eventually fail to hold a charge, but my previous Dyson's battery worked very well for 5 years, so I am hopeful about this one as well. Besides, a replacement battery is probably available directly from Dyson, so it may be a non-issue.

I purchased this item to be a convenient and easy vacuum for daily touch ups when I don't feel like lugging out my larger corded vacuum. To that end this vacuum is perfect. It is also very handy for detailing my car. However, as much as I really get a lot of use out of it there are a few things that I find frustrating. For instance, the length of time that the battery stays charged while in use is very short. Also when using it for a few minutes straight the battery gets hot. Not hot enough to hurt, but it is uncomfortable. This normally wouldn't be worth mentioning, but considering the price it's annoying. Also there is no option to run it while plugged in, so once the battery dies you need to wait for the battery to charge before using again. I would not recommend this for people that do need to heavily vacuum rugs or a have larger house with this unit being the primary vacuum. If you have a large house and choose this as a back up vacuum or have a smaller home that doesn't need a large vacuum this item is perfect. I really get a lot of use out of all of the attachments.

I have the older, more traditional style Dyson and I STILL LOVE IT, but I wanted to try this style out for it's cordless feature. You can use this thing ANYWHERE! It's so light, less loud, charges fast and is easy to use. The "container" is a bit smaller, so you have to dump it out more often than a "regular" vacuum, but it so easy to do that I don't mind. I'll never purchase an other brand from now on.

Nifty and stylish little vac, not too heavy or bulky, well designed, smooth and sucks OK but gosh darn it, they charge you enough for the privilege of owning it, too. The attachments are numerous and, surprise, also overpriced. However, they are cleverly designed and different enough from your run-of-the-mill variety that, with a little picking and choosing, you can have a pretty decent smorgasbord to tackle almost any job. Don't go overboard, though, because you could quite easily spend the cost of a new vac to equip yourself with every accessory. BTW, I got this vac on sale as I would never dream of paying $600. The one negative, besides the awful entry price, is the paltry battery life. I got the V6, rated and advertised at a 20 minute run time which I felt would be adequate for the small jobs I bought it for. Problem is the three floor attachments are motorized which is all very well until you realize they suck battery power like the north wind sucks away body heat. You get all of 6 minutes run time! As they say, read the small print - except as far as I know there is no small print so I'd call their advertising at least misleading. Having learned this it necessitated my buying the flat floor motor-less brush, a very nicely designed piece but, another $50!! The recommendation to buy is for those who have the budget and want something a little more stylish/exclusive than a Hoover, Shark or Bissel. However, I don't think the V6 offers any greater vacuuming efficiency than the lesser models out there so do your research and spend your $ wisely.

This is my first Dyson product. Reading the reviews, i was cautious in my expectations. During the holidays when i purchased on sale for $299 i had to try it out. My expectation was this was not going to be as good as a regular stand-up vacuum, but if it will have enough suction to be handy...i would be happy. This has lived up to the that. It does not do a great job on my carpet, but it will get most particles off it...it does not leave those vacuum suction marks. Bare floor it is excellent as you would imagine. The deal winner is portability and usefulness in quick mess pickup. At first the battery time was an issue. By default mine was set to max mode and the first several times i experienced the dreaded 6 min run-time. Then for the heck of it i hit the max button and then i could hear the sound of the lowered rpms and i was able to clean more than 1 room. The attachments are fun and help with various tasks. Since the performance with the carpet brush is not mind blowing, i opt to mainly use the bar floor tool and not go through the hassle of swapping attachments. The bare floor tool works on the carpet, just not a good as the carpet attachment...which for me like i said isn't that impressive. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend to certain people. This is not meant to thoroughly clean your whole house once a week. This is intended for quick daily or several times a week tasks. So make your decision and money you are willing to pay for that! That is the best advice i can give. It is very easy and fun to use.

I love this vacuum. I had high expectations as it is a Dyson but wow! Love all of the attachments and the suction is superior to anything else I’ve ever used. Lightweight and easily maneuverable. Only downside is that I expected the battery to last longer than it does (15 min, tops). Perfect for quick clean ups and vacuuming but you’ll have to be speedy to get all of your floors and carpets done in one charge!

I finally pulled the trigger and decided to try a Dyson vacuum. I was always hesitant because of the price and also because of the love/hate relationship consumers seem to have. It was on sale for Black Friday so I bought it. I have had this vacuum for a couple weeks and I have to say I enjoy it. It's light and quiet. There is plenty of charge in my opinion for what you use it for. I love being able to grab this vacuum and taking it with me all around the house to do quick and easy clean up. Especially the stairs. It was so quiet that at first I kept testing out to see if there was suction. I have never had a vacuum this quiet. This vacuum is a must for me. I had a Shark Rocket stick vacuum in the past. I loved the vacuum and definitely recommend it, but I wanted cordless. I still recommend keeping a corded heavy duty vacuum. For one, if your vacuum isn't charged, it's nice to have a backup. Second, if you want a heavy duty vacuum it's nice to have one. I honestly wouldn't have bought this if it wasn't on sale though. The price is high. If you can catch a sale though, definitely grab it. One last con for me is that the canister is a bit small. I know they made it bigger and easier in the new absolute, so they did address that and a stronger battery. If you are going to pay full price for a Dyson, get the V8 Absolute. I don't mind emptying the canister myself. Overall, I love my Dyson and will look to purchase maybe a full size Dyson in the future. (If I can catch a sale lol)

I found this is a perfect fit for me and my home with a lot of hardwood and tile floors. It also helps that I don't have pets. If my situation were different, this wouldn't be ideal for me. The biggest drawback to the vacuum is the short battery life and long charge time. The filter cover is also placed awkwardly above the handle and I sometimes knock it off accidentally. As for the performance, the vacuum is fantastic. I'd get all the attachments if possible, because I use them all. Also, if you use this nonstop without giving it a break (in the 16 minutes the battery lasts) it will overheat and shut down. Like I said, small house without a lot of traffic is the ideal situation for this particular style vacuum. Otherwise, I'd steer clear as you won't like having to vacuum your home with three hour breaks in between charge times.

I love my new Dyson cordless. I have hardwood floors and the power head for hardwood floors is great. It comes with a variety of attachments that are easy to attach. There are 2 powers settings to extend the time before the battery needs to be recharged. There's plenty of power on the lower setting but I use the higher setting when vacuuming the area rugs.

This is a great product. It has the suction power of a corded version but is lightweight and easy to stow away. I would have given this a 5 star but the charge does not last as long as I would expect for the cost of the item and for the product being a Dyson. Otherwise, I have been using it on my vinyl floors in the kitchen which have various ridges and various rugs. It picks everything up. Even the rug sometimes.

What a big help! I have two Bengal cats and a dog. I needed something to use daily to vacuum my kitchen area. When you sweep, dust and pet hair get in the air and on your counter tops. With this cordless vacuum I can easily get it out and clean my floors without having to wipe all my counters down and breath in the dust and hair that gets stired up with sweeping. It's easy to assemble, change and empty! The only downside is when you use it at full power I have about 6 minutes to get the floor done. Sometimes I run out of time when I decide to go under and behind things and it takes a while to recharge. But with that much power and convenience I wouldn't expect it to last a very long time and be light enough to use easily. I really need to get the upright for my deeper cleanings. I'm saving for it now! Great product! Expensive but worth it to me. The cheaper ones don't do half the job and don't least very long.
