You may be interested to know the V7 has two power modes. All of our Dyson cordless units do come switched on to MAX mode out of the box. Our V7 will run up to 30 minutes in regular mode and 7 minutes in Max mode. Furthermore, the V7 Car+Boat is equipped 2 year Dyson warranty, when purchased new and from an authorized Dyson retailer. Vacuum was charged till full and after using it for 5 minutes it overheated and had to be charged again after cooling. It is the worst. Don't waste your money.

The V7 is designed to get 30 minutes of run time in standard mode with no motorized tool attached, 20 minutes with the motorized head in standard mode and 6 minutes in MAX mode as advertised. It sounds as if it was being used in MAX mode.
