This is an excellent vacuum for hardwood floors. It leaves them very clean, picks up everything without spreading the dirt around.

The older dyson stick vacuum stuck to the floor when vacuuming. but this one works great for the laminate flooring in our rv.

We love this Dyson cord-free vacuum. To begin with, it is very easy to take out of the box and very simple to set up. The vacuum will need to be charged for 3 hours prior to using. We love all the extra accessories/attachments that it comes with. They are all very easy to change out. The main reason why I got this Dyson was to clean our hardwood floors that we have in the kitchen. After charging we went to work on the kitchen and it picked everything right up, we didn't have to give it multiple pass overs. The suction on this Dyson is definitely very good, which is not a surprise. The end of the attachment has a nice velvet like brush which ensures that the floor won't be scratched. The vacuum glides very nicely on the floors and you can maneuver the head very easily around corners. Once we were done with the hardwood floors it had enough juice to change the attachment and use it to vacuum our stairs. It also did a fabulous job on the stairs. We love that it is wireless because we can take it all over the house and we also plan to use it on our cars. My wife and I love that it isn't very heavy, so the kids will be able to use it to help out around the house. I was a little hesitant to get it because of the 30 minute run time, but it is plenty of time to get the floors clean because as I said earlier you only have to do one pass over. If you are in the market for a vacuum that is versatile and has great suction, then you need to consider the Dyson V7 cord-free vacuum.

While I wasn't impressed by the suction at first I realized for the easy of use it's worth it on hardwood and tile floors. It's worth it.

Love this vacuum, 5 stars all day. The normal suction mode is perfect for everyday hardwood surface vacuuming.

The Dyson V7 is an amazing vacuum, with one major flaw that prevents it from being the best. First off, it’s a Dyson, so expect nothing less than outstanding quality, including craftsmanship and design. The V7 looks very sexy. With the matte blue metal hose, it looks really elegant. The amount of detail on the vacuum is very impressive. There are more than enough attachments that come included in the package. in fact, most people will probably never need or use all of them, but it’s nice to have that many options...And there are many different options including; 3 different brushes, the long neck with the main roller, a short roller for hard to reach spaces, and a couple of different nozzles. Dyson also includes a wall-mountable stand and charger, I really like how you can mount the stand on the wall, it makes for convenient storage. The power of the V7 is very impressive. I tried the vacuum on tile as well as carpet, it picked up everything from dust to dog hair. The V7 has to power setting max and a battery saving setting. The lower setting works well on tile, but missed some stuff on the carpet. The V7 is also pretty light weight and very comfortable to hold and use. Dyson did a really good job in designing these vacuums. The only problem that I have with the V7 is, the battery life. The battery lasts about 30+ mins on the max setting, while that is understandable for a portable vacuum this powerful, the problem lies when you need to recharge it. It takes about 3 and 1/2 hours to recharge the battery to full. This is especially annoying when you have a larger home with multiple rooms to clean and the battery dies half way through. I really wish Dyson had put a better battery or at least a shorter charging time, because other than that, this is a fantastic vacuum. To sum it up, the Dyson V7 is a great vacuum that has the power to handle both tile and carpet. It has plenty of attachment options for any task you can throw at it, not to mention, the look and feel of the V7 is flawless. The only drawback, is the battery life and the charging time. For smaller homes this won’t be an issue, but for larger homes with many rooms - you might have battery issues. Either way, I would still recommend this vacuum to anyone.

It is a great little vac but after a while it looses suction and the battery life drains too quickly.

Awesome vacuum. It has double the power of the V6. All around this seems to be the best priced model value wise. This thing is soooo convenient. My home is much cleaner now just because I can just grab this thing and fly over my floors rather than hauling out the vacuum cleaner and having to plug it in three different places because the cord doesn't reach. The swivel is just genius. The suction is really good. One thing to know that on max suction the battery only lasts 6 minutes. This wasn't obvious to me when researching. Otherwise, it lasts 20m on normal mode or 30m for handheld at regular suction. The handheld attachments are nice and way easier than using a dusting cloth. It has been a game changer for me. This vacuum is everything that it is advertised as. It picks up everything - especially hair. It is easy to empty and charges relatively quickly. Some minor complaints is that it feels weird pushing this on my carpet. My carpet is low profile and suited for it, but it doesn't roll smooth like on wood floors. Maybe this to be expected, but much different than a regular vacuum. Not a biggie though. On the wood floors, it's a champ. Another minor complaint is that it doesn't tend to get bigger particles. I think because it sets so low, it tends to push them. This can be worked around by lifting it and sitting it on the particle. It's not as strong as a plugged in Dyson, but for me it's perfect and worth the trade off. Max suction is pretty decent though and I can drag my bar stools via the suction. However, If you hit a totally flat surface where it can't breath it will cut off a brief second -- not sure if it's by design or not. Maybe it needs just a tiny bit of airflow. This only happens when cleaning my bar stool tops though -- because they are super flat perhaps. Only con: There is literally NO warning when the battery is going to die. It will simply 'stop' when the battery is to low. And I don't mean slow down, it STOPS. The first time it happened it was alarming. I highly recommend this product.

This is the second Dyson we have in our home and after trying other V6 models that ended up scratching our floors we purchased this one. This one is fantastic for hardwood floors. We use the older Behemoth Dyson for everything else, I wish there was a way to get the power of the early dyson into the small package of the v6 but oh well. This works great and love it for our floors! Totally would suggest it to anyone with nice hardwood floors over any other vacuum. (Believe me we have tried a nice few)

I use it to vacuum my hardwood floors and my carpet and my car love it. Especially because is cordless.
