The V7 is designed to get 30 minutes of run time in standard mode with no motorized tool attached, 20 minutes with the motorized head in standard mode and 6 minutes in MAX mode as advertised. After about 60 days of use the battery will no longer charge, and 'red' error light glows when attempting to charge. Unit only gets occasional use, it's not the primary vacuum in our home. Fortunately I purchased when they were included in the 90 try it or return it promotion and Best Buy was great in exchanging. I did notice however that this model is no longer part of that promo. I wonder why???

works great on tile floors

First, to eliminate the difficulty of dragging a normal size vaccum out of an already full closet and secondly to be able to quickly vacuum out the cars without having to drag out an extension cord every time. It has certainly fulfilled those goals. It does a great job of cleaning up around my small place and I have been very pleased with the run time, which was my main concern. As long as you don't keep it on max mode the whole time, I have plenty of juice to do the entire place! Definitely pleased!

It is an expensive buy and I would not have purchased it had it not been on sale. The vacuum performs as you would expect picking up everything from the floor. The MAX setting lasts more than the 6 minutes that the instructions quote but not that much (maybe ten) I use the normal setting for around the house when I see a heavy area I switch to Max for a minute or two and I find that allows me to vacuum the entire common living space no problem.
