Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. I am happy to hear how pleased you've been with the overall performance of your Dyson V7 Motorhead, thus far in your use. The Dyson V7 Motorhead has a run-time enhancing trigger. Battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed – it is not wasted when moving from room to room, or moving around obstacles. All of our cordless units do come switched on to MAX mode out of the box, otherwise, when not set to MAX mode, a full charge gives 30 minutes of fade free power or 20 minutes when using the motorized floor tool. When using your machine in MAX with the direct-drive Motorhead, run time will be approximately 7 minutes.

The V7 is designed to get 30 minutes of run time in standard mode with no motorized tool attached, 20 minutes with the motorized head in standard mode and 6 minutes in MAX mode as advertised.

All Dyson cord-free models feature a run-time enhancing trigger, which ensures that battery power is only used when the trigger is engaged - it's not wasted when moving from room to room or around obstacles. Right out of the box, your machine will be set to MAX mode, which will provide up to 7 minutes of run time. MAX power is generally reserved for more stubborn messes or larger debris. When not set to MAX mode, a full charge gives 30 minutes of fade free power or 20 minutes when using the motorized floor tool.
