To pick up good it has to be on the high mode and then you don't have much cleaning time before the batter goes dead.

Posted .Hi Ray, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've been disappointed with your V7 Motorhead. The V7 cordless vacuum cleaner has a run-time enhancing trigger. Battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed – it is not wasted when moving from room to room, or moving around obstacles. All of our cordless units do come switched on to MAX mode out of the box, otherwise, when not set to MAX mode, a full charge gives 30 minutes of fade free power or 20 minutes when using the motorized floor tool. When using your machine in MAX with the direct-drive Motorhead, run time will be approximately 7 minutes.

No good and surprised!

The battery didn't stay charged the 30min as promised and the vaccum became so hot when using it that I had to wait for it to cool down before attempting to recharge it. This vaccum was either defective or is meant for really small areas..and not for carpet at all! Disappointed Dyson..returned and and got the Dyson mini ball..best decision ever! I love it!!!

Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to write your review of the Dyson V7 Motorhead Cordless vacuum. Dyson V7 cordless vacuums features hygienic one-click bin emptying, with the push of a button to release the dirt. The 0.14 gallon bin will have a MAX fill line to indicate when it's full and time to empty. We typically recommend emptying your bin by at least the top of the MAX line that the bin has. Also, the clear portion of the bin does remove completely for optional maintenance if desired.
Your V7 Motorhead features two suction modes, MAX and regular power. While regular power is suitable for most household messes, you may find that some debris is more stubborn to pick up and does require MAX power mode. While in MAX power, your unit will receive a boost of power, making suction more powerful. When fully charged, you can expect run time from 7-30 minutes, depending on which suction mode and tools you are using.

Care was taken to make sure that there was only one twist tie to deal with. Beyond that it was just a matter of taking out the dividers and removing the plastic protectors. With just a couple of clicks assembly was complete and my only disappointment (as if I was dying to do housework) was I had to charge it for a few hours before the first use. This vacuum is amazingly light weight and just like the TV commercials say has amazing suction. I have a dog so there is always pet hair to deal with and so far I see no sign of the beater bar collecting any - all goes right into the bag free collector. The only caution would be that the container for debris, is on the small side. I don't know if I would use this as my only vacuum when doing an entire area of the house but for the entryway, steps, kitchen etc, it is fast, easy and effective.
