I liked the vacuum itself it was just the charging station gave out and stopped charging the vacuum Good thing for the Best Buy warranty

This Dyson vacuum Motorhead v7 was super simple to put together. It is extremely well designed and built. This is not some cheap vacuum. Literally. The instructions say to charge it at least 5 hours before using, so I plugged it in overnight. The next day I picked it up and accidentally hit the trigger. It started up and startled me. I then discovered it has a hair trigger. It is almost impossible to not start it up by mistake. I used the vacuum in my shop for about 30 minutes, and couldn't believe how well it sucked up everything, and was so easy to maneuver around things. I have some very heavy rubber mats in my shop, and the suction was so strong that I had to turn down the power level to normal, or it would just suck the mat and not let go. I was commenting to my wife before she tried it about the hair trigger. She used it for a bit and said that it was probably designed that way so it would be easier keep it on for a long time. She also loved its portability and easy of use. She really liked how easy it is to empty the dust collector. Simply lifting a lever pops open the container, allowing the dirt to fall straight down into the garbage. We still aren't sure how long the battery lasts, but I'm sure long enough to do our motor home several times on a trip on one charge. Overall, I'm very pleased with it, but I'm afraid my wife wants another for the house.

Overall, it does the job but it does not hold a charge long enough to finish the job. I have a small, 1300 square foot apartment and it has to be charged at least once in the middle of the job.

The Dyson V7 Motorhead is a wireless unit for flexibility and convenience. It features an incredibly easy setup, but requires 3.5 hours of initial charge time per the instructions. Once it is charged, you are ready to go. I was able to vacuum 2300 square feet on one charge with seemingly plenty of juice left to continue. I also was able to vacuum the ceiling corners on the same charge. The unit is light enough that I didn't need to switch hands while vacuuming the house. The vacuum itself is very maneuverable and also has a very low profile so that you can vacuum under beds, and even some couches and dressers. This means you don't have to move as much furniture around to get a good clean. The Dyson V7 Motorhead comes with upholstery attachment with brush, and an attachment to go in tight spaces like couch crevices. It also includes a wall mount so that the unit can be put up and out-of-the-way while it charges. The unit has 2 suction modes, one for regular suction, one for extra suction. Keep in mind that during regular operation, only normal suction should be used, or it will greatly reduce the battery life.

This is my second cordless vacuum. This v7 was nearly double the price of my previous model. Is it worth the price? Not really. The vacuum is easy to setup and use. Overall it performs fairly well. I have much more hard wood than carpet so that is where most of my use is. For small debris it works great, but it does have some trouble with larger objects. The handheld portion of the unit is an upgrade from my last model that didn't have this option. But since I already have a small handheld unit I usually forget to use it on this machine. Battery life isn't great. If you're like me and have a small house you can get it all done with one charge, which is close to 30 minutes. This isn't a problem for me but it could be for someone with a larger home. Final verdict, the product is built good and is easy to use. I just can't see the benefits for the premium price over similar models that are much cheaper. Not to mention the fairly short battery life could be a turnoff for some. Don't get me wrong, it is a very nice unit, just not sure it is worth the price paid.

My overall impression of this vacuum is that it is awesome for a quick cleanup of a single room. No cord makes for an easy to grab cleaning tool. I gave my 11-year-old daughter the task of cleaning the upstairs with it, and her major complaint was that holding the trigger down the entire time became very difficult for her. If you have a lot of cleaning to do, it would be better if there was an on/off switch, rather than the trigger. I'm sure most adults would agree that this is lightweight and very simple to use and to empty when done. The fact that there's a mount for it to hang on the wall makes it even better. This detail makes it a winning product because I don't have to wonder where the attachments and charging cable are stored and is much better than another bag of accessories in the closet.

They seem to be made cheaper and cheaper. Unit broke down on me after 3 months. This was the second Dyson that did that

My honest review of the Dyson V7 Motorhead. The good: Its a fantastic hand held device. Doesn’t weigh too much and its really user friendly. There is no comparison to other “dust busters” on the market. It’s an extremely powerful vacuum and keeps its power. The bad: 30 minute battery life. To me it seems short. The upright attachment doesn’t work well on carpets. I have to go over the same area a couple of times for it to pick up the dirt. However, it does work really well on hardwood floors. This vacuum isn’t going to replace my upright anytime soon but its perfect to pick up the small mess.

Pick up is fair on tile, but on carpet is awesome. Figuring out how to dump it was a bit of a challenge

Great for the price but on low carpets the suction isn’t great. Need a bit more juice which V10 provides.

This is our second one since the first broke so soon. Very disappointed in its power. Id buy a Shark next time.

Damage quickly, only used it a couple of times and just stopped working out of no where.

Simple answer: I like it, you don't realize how much of a pain it is to have the big clunky vacuum versus a unit that doesn't even have a cord while your vacuuming. In-depth Answer: Starting off with the presentation, the box was nice enough and I was happy to see that the cheap handles of Dyson of old were gone. When opening it actually opens from the side and presents the unit very well with a lot of cardboard to make it very secure which I appreciate because you never know how well it gets treated at the store or on the truck. When you pull the unit out it's pretty self explanatory. You got the unit a charger and a wall adapter that just takes two screws to set up. Plus a few attachments depending on your vacuuming needs. It has clear indicators on it to show what to press and how to do everything which is great for people who may be nervous of trying this out. Once you get the unit on it's POWERFUL. It does not feel or act like any old cheap vacuum that has promised powerful suction and wireless. This unit cleans my floors better than my older vacuum with the old cable. Now the only thing that I'd say to keep in mind is if your home is pretty big above 1500 square feet I'd either recommend two of these or say get a classic version. Reason being is that the battery life when your at full suction can leave you wanting more as I was able to get around 20-30 minutes before it powered down. This was fine for me as I literally just finished vacuuming as it turned itself off. This is a great unit and definitely worth the cost to buy it and I hope going forward they get better batteries and make it last longer. Thank you for reading my review.

Brand new out of box it held a charge for maybe 10 mins, and less than 3 months of hardly using due to it not running when you want to use it it no longer works. Will never buy another Dyson product. One star only because it made me.

I want to love this vacuum. It cleans very well. However, emptying it requires an engineering degree which I do not have. I have never used a device that is so difficult to empty. The directions are impossible to follow and there is little help on Dyson's website. I returned to Best Buy (when it was open) to have them demonstrate the procedure to me. Right now it is in 3 parts on my floor and I cannot put it back together. Best Buy is closed except for pick-up and I can find little help on the website. Just spent time with a Dyson technician and I still can't put it back together!!!! DON'T BUY THIS!
