Customers often highlight the ease of use, lightweight design, and strong suction of the V7 Motorhead Cord-Free Stick Vacuum. Many appreciate its powerful performance and quiet operation, along with the convenient cordless feature. Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that after just 6 months of use, you're having trouble with the battery in your Dyson V7 Motorhead. This is rather unusual to hear. Lithium-Ion batteries are subject to degradation over time. This is completely normal and occurs with any device that uses this type of battery. Battery degradation is not a fault of the machine. It happens to all batteries in everyday items, such as mobile phones and laptops. Unfortunately, we are unable to advise how long each component will last in each individual's home. Having said that, your machine's battery is expected to far outlast the free 2-year guarantee provided when you purchase your Dyson new, and from an authorized Dyson retailer.

Posted .Hi Susan, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to learn that in your use thus far, you've found the suction in the Dyson V7 Motorhead to be lacking. Our Dyson V7 models feature two suction modes, MAX and regular power. While regular power is suitable for most household messes, you may find that some debris is more stubborn to pick up and does require MAX power mode. While in MAX power, your unit will receive a boost of power, making suction more powerful. When fully charged, you can expect run time from 7-30 minutes, depending on which suction mode and tools you are using. We would value the opportunity to ensure that your unit is performing as intended as we are committed to customer satisfaction. Please do not hesitate to reach out to [email protected]. We are keen on providing support.

||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So disappointed about this product. Surprised at its poor performance coming from DYSON and the price. Unit is discontinued and no longer available at the store. Swapped it twice not ideal for pet owners and carpets cleaning. So frustrated and disappointed with the product. Went back to the corded model from another vendor

Another Great Dyson Product
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a loyal Dyson fan for the last 10+ years. Our DC10 Animal has functioned without a problem since we bought it (outside of self-inflicted wounds - stay away from shoe laces especially when someone's feet are still in the shoes). Anyway, the V7 is a rechargeable handheld vacuum which is super convenient for hard surfaces and quick cleanups. As the owner of two dogs and lots of tile flooring, this is an absolute necessity for me. As with most Dyson products, this is a mixture of plastic and metal surfaces - not much different from other Dyson products. This is a replacement of an older Dyson handheld for us. What sets this apart from our previous model is a "Max Suction" setting which increases the sucking power as well as the noise. On the standard setting "High Suction-Extended Run", it is quite powerful even though it doesn't sound like it's doing much. It will easily lift pet hair, crumbs, etc from hard surfaces. Once you flip the switch the monster inside is unleashed - though the batter won't last as long as on the extended run setting. I haven't done a test to see how much longer it will run - but that gives me an idea of what to do this weekend. For most day-to-day cleaning, the Extended Run is perfect. As I mentioned before, I've been a big Dyson fan for a long time. Having the ability to choose between Standard Suction and Max Suction is a great feature to conserve battery life. As I member of the Best Buy Tech Insider Network, I was sent this product at no charge in exchange for an honest review. That said, I'd have no problem spending my own hard earned dollars for a Dyson V7.

Need a cordless vac? Look no further...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had cordless rechargeable vacuums from other maufacturers over the years and NONE compare to the v7. Mounting the charging base to the wall takes all of 5 minutes, just make sure you have access to an outlet nearby to plug the power supply into. Once the base is installed on your wall the v7 slips right into the base easily and begins charging. There are also places to store the included attachments on the base for easy access and so they don't get lost. When using the longer tube and brush bar, cleaning floors, carpets and anything else is a dream. The suction power is fantastic and every bit of the design has been thought out. No bags are needed as all you need to do is empty the clear bin to get rid of the dirt you have picked up. There is also a filter in the clear bin that needs to be washed periodically and left to dry overnight. The other real plus as far as I'm concerned is the fact it can be used to clean your cars interior, being a car detailing freak this for sure appeals to me. Battery life varies depending upon what attachments are used and whether you operate the unit in Max mode at all times but will run up to 20-30 mins on average. I cannot recommend this more, great work Dyson.

Very Good Cordless
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve always seen these Dyson stick vacs in the stores and wanted to give them a try. When the new model came out and was asked to check this one out I jumped at the chance. First it came packaged very well like our other two Dyson uprights, very easy to assemble with a very detailed instruction manual making assembly very easy. There was a sticker around the grip and trigger that stated the battery was 20% charged from the factory and to charge fully before using, so I plugged it in and waited about 1.5hrs for the blue charge light to go out. I wanted to see just how long the battery would last with the Motorhead attached so I ran it pretty much nonstop till the battery died. I was able to get 28 minutes of run time out of it, which isn’t bad for a device this light, and that’s with the Motorhead attached and running all the time also. After the battery died I plugged it back into the charger and waited about 2.75 hours for it to charge back up. Not fast but not overnight either. I can tell this is designed for a few quick cleanings and probably not for a whole house. But during my first test I actually cleaned a very large portion of the house with it, and after almost 30 minutes of run time I was ready for it to give out anyway. We have two other Dysons my wife uses in her cleaning business and we have an H branded cordless upright for our house. I was really impressed with how much fine dirt this little vac was able to pick up. it pretty much equaled and maybe even a little better than the H branded cordless, but it is new and the other is very well used so that could be the reason it did as good or better at picking up the fine dust. Our house is tile and laminate flooring in every room and we have throw rugs or runners every room. For this the V7 worked exceptionally well, it filled up a lot faster than I expected, and the small dust bin is probably it’s only disadvantage, so you will be making trips to the trashcan often. I also have a D “tool company branded” cordless hand vac. The suction on V7 is a whole lot better than it. Its only advantage is that the battery pack is the same as my D branded drill and can be swapped out, it can also vacuum up ½ gallon of liquid. A friend of ours has a V6 and happen to stop by last night so I let them check out this one. They were very impressed. They like their V6 but said this one definitely had more suction power than the old model. Now they are going to be looking at upgrading theirs and sort of wish they hadn’t seen the new model. Emptying the dust bin is pretty straight forward. Just pull straight up on the red handle and the motor unit slides up and then the bottom door swings open dropping the contents. Then you just slide the motor head back down, swing the bottom lid back into place and you are done, very simple. The one thing I did observe that you want to keep an eye on the dirt level and make sure you empty when it starts to get up there, I didn’t at first and overfilled it a little. When I went to empty it I removed the extension and dirt came pouring out the nozzle end of the canister “oops”, you’ll also want to keep the device as level as possible when detaching the extension otherwise if you hold it to vertically some stuff may drop back out the nozzle end of the vac, “lesson learned’. If Dyson could have some sort of flap inside to help prevent this it would be nice but may be hard to do without affecting suction. I haven’t had time to test everything else out but from what I have seen so far this is a great little stick vac. And if you only have hard flooring with a few low pile throw rugs then this may be all you really need.

Powerful. Easy To Use, And Cordless!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Dyson vacuum is great. When you open the box, everything you need is right there. You don't have to put it together, just plug it in and let it charge up The attachments only go on one way and they just click on so there's no hassle The brush tool is a slider combined with a short pipe to use on couches, tables for crumbs and other small messes. I really like the combined tool because there's all the less to keep up with or lose. The dust bin is very easy to empty and you don't have to touch the mess. Just pull the latch all the way out and the bin falls open over the trash bin. Bye bye mess. There are some things I didn't care for though. First, the motor head is heavy itself and adding the tools makes it heavier. Even though it's cordless and easier to use than a standard vacuum, I find it very hard to hold it up over my head to clean up high. For me, it's just too heavy for that. Second, I do wish the dirt bin was a tad bigger. I found myself having to stop quite often to empty. Third is the trigger/power switch. This vacuum has a trigger style power switch and you have to keep it pressed to keep it going. It doesn't sound like a big deal until you want to switch hands to go a different direction. That means you have to let go of the trigger, switch hands then pull the trigger again. The trigger does not have a way, that I found, to keep it pressed. Over all this vacuum is great. It's not meant for doing big jobs. You'll want a different model for that. But for quick pick ups, small spaces, RVs and such, this vacuum is perfect. It never loses suction and I found it very handy for those small jobs around the house.

Posted .Hello Eugene,
Thank you for your review. This is Miella from Dyson. We're so sorry to hear of the experience you had with your V7 Motorhead machine. The V7 Motorhead cordless machine was designed to provide fade-free suction at up to 30 minutes of run time. Pulsating is the machine's way of alerting the user there is a blockage present. Our Dyson experts can help in isolating the issue to bring the machine back to proper working order.
We hope you continue to consider Dyson products for your home in the future.

Handy, cool, good pick up of small particles
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This stick vacuum cleaner performed extremely well on pet hair, floors, carpeting and fine particles. The design makes it portable, maneuverable, and generally easy to use. The motor in the brush roll results in relatively poor battery life (I think we got 15-18 minutes out of one battery charge). It still does not outperform the other sticks. This Dyson competes well enough as a high-end stick vac, but poor battery life and a tendency to clog with large particles hold keeps this Dyson product from replacing your full-size upright. This Dyson packs the majority of its power into the base. Hold the base by the handle, click the wand and the motorized head into place, depress the convenient trigger on the handle, and you're ready to vacuum. With most of the weight in your hand, this Motorhead maneuvers fluidly. In fact, because you're holding the weight, it doesn't take much leverage to reach floors, stairs, and even ceilings with the same setup. It can turn on a dime. Unfortunately, the battery charge runs out quickly, meaning the fun won't last long since the battery provides the suction and spins the motor. BOTTOM LINE: A great second vacuum, a great replacement to a broom and a dust buster. I don't know if the price would be justified for this item.

Revolutionary!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Dyson vacuum. I used to think that the higher premium that Dyson charges for their appliances was all hype. I wish I would have tried one sooner. I love many things about this vacuum and there are very few things that I don't like about it. But the three things that were game changers for me is how light weight the vacuum is, it's cordless, and it's bagless. The aluminum construction allows for the lightweight construction. Albeit light, the vacuum does exude quality and feels solid. By far this is the best experience I have ever had vacuuming. I never had to exert a lot of force or pressure to move the V7 vacuum. Hands down lighter than our current Shark vacuum (or any other vacuum that we've used for that matter). The fact that it's cordless means that I no longer have to unplug a cord from the outlet every time I need to vacuum another room or if I exceed the cord's length. Amazing!!! Because it's cordless, it does need to be charged with the included charger. I was able to reach a full charge in a couple of hours. So much engineering went into this appliance. As mentioned earlier, the vacuum is bagless. To dispose of debris, you simply disconnect the upper portion of the handle, hold it over a trash can, and pull the small red latch to empty it out. Incredibly easy and quite ingenius. For a "stick" type of vacuum, the motor was surprisingly powerful. I do have to note that I use it on the "Max" setting. The lower setting felt a bit lacking. It had no problem picking up debris and I felt like I never had to go over the same section twice. It left my carpet looking spotless. Impressed! Now, the only two things were minor gripes for me was the color offering and that you have to constantly hold down the trigger button when vacuuming. The color fuchsia is probably fine for most females but it would be nice to see offerings with more neutral colors for male owners that may not have female counterparts in their households. As far as holding down the trigger button, it really is nitpicking. While it's incredibly light and I never noticed any fatigue by holding it down during vacuuming, it would have been nice to see some sort of "auto-on" feature so that I don't have to constantly hold down the trigger. All in all, those are minor annoyances that are easily outweighed by the pros. In a nutshell, this is a cordless, bagless, incredibly lightweight "stick vacuum" with a powerful motor. What's not to love?!?

One of the best sweepers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dyson - V7 Motorhead Bagless Cordless 2-in-1 Handheld/Stick Vacuum is a top of the line vacuum that fits your cleaning needs. What I really appreciate about the Dyson V7 vacuum is that this vacuum is easy to assemble and easy to operate. With this vacuum being cordless, the vacuum is so convenient and easy to clean the house or take with you to clean your vehicle. In addition, the charge on the battery lasts longer than I expected and makes cleaning so much easier than tripping over cords as you vacuum. In addition, another positive feature about the Dyson V7 is that you can use the vacuum in two different ways- one as a handheld and one as an upright vacuum. This Dyson also has a nice wall station that you can store on your wall to keep off the floor and in smaller spaces. Would highly recommend this vacuum to others.

Good for quick cleanup but no replacement to Shark
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I enjoyed the light-weight and easy maneuvering that this unit provides, I did not find that it picked up debris from the hard surfaces or carpeted areas that my three-year-old tends to leave in his path. I attempted to clean my entire first floor (roughly 800 sq. ft.) and was unable to satisfactorily complete the task before the battery ran out. I finally grabbed my Shark Rocket corded vac to finish the job. I did enjoy the quickness of switching from floor to handheld to clean stairs and upholstery. The unit is also much quieter than you would expect from a vacuum cleaner. I will continue to use the Dyson for quick cleanups, but stick to the Shark for more detailed cleaning.
