Excellent build quality and performance. I do end up using the carpet attachment even on solid surfaces because it picks up larger items (like leaves in the fall) better than the solid surface attachment. I wish there was an option to use it while it was plugged in and charging, but thats very minor and battery life is very good.

This vacuum is perfect for my town home. Went with the v8 model due to better battery. Can vacuum whole house on single charge. Mounting bracket is awesome. Vacuum is quiet. Emptying is simple. Overall fantastic.

Light and easy to use. Keeps its charge for some time

I have hardwood floors, shag rugs, and low pile carpeting. The V8 Absolute powers through even the Shag rug, and does a darn good job! I have two other name brand, electric vacuum's that struggle to clean the shag rug 12' x 10'. The V8 Absolute also has specialty tools like roller brushes to do hardwood floors, one for stairs, a dusting brush, and crevas tool. Best of all, my wife absolutely loves it. It's also very quiet when operating it too. Thanks Best Buy and Dyson! What an outstanding design! Happy wife, means a very happy husband!

Portable, powerful and incredibly convenient. Love the fact that it's cordless. Use it for the home, car and even the litter box. I'm extremely happy with Dyson. Replaced my Animal with this and have no regrets.

This Dyson has been perfect for daily... sometimes twice daily dog hair clean ups! It is lightweight, easy to use, great attachments for cleaning furniture, easy to clean! My home is less than 1300 sf so no issues on charge time. I don’t think I will ever be able to own a vacuum with a cord ever again.

My husband purchased for my Christmas gift after much research. The trigger broke within weeks. BB refused to take it back as a return b/c it was after 14 days. Dyson Customer Service provided free return shipping and a replacement. :) WARNING: BB does NOT offer any type of customer service for Dyson; you need to work directly with Dyson. Sadly, despite calls to the store, their 800 number, and online chats, they NEVER disclosed this! Very frustrating! BOTTOM LINE: Pricey but a great tool for floors, upholstery and just vacuuming up messes. Powerful yet lightweight. Perfect for stairs. Dyson Customer Service was excellent! Best Buy Customer Service needs an overhaul.

I'm used to buying the $150 vacuum cleaners, but heard from enough friends that this was worth the price. After 6 weeks with it, have to say it is worth it. Easy to use, easy to get out and put away (which eliminates the old excuse of having to drag the heavy vacuum cleaner around). The attachments are great, we are cleaning things we never clean, like under the cushions on the couch, the attachments make it easy to do so. Not heavy, so it's easy to just keep going, you'll always find something else to go after! Using it on standard carpet as well as wood floors and entryway mats in the mud room, and it is tackling all surfaces like a champ. Would totally recommend it, hoping to get many years out of it!

Have other Dyson products and am never disappointed! Cost a little more but so worth it! This cordless vac is so lightweight and easy to use, I use it in the basement to reach cobwebs up in the unfinished ceiling area...works like a charm. It's a second vac for downstairs as I can longer manage lugging the big vac up and down the stairs! Perfect and very pleased!!

I needed to replace my over 10 year old Dyson Animal regular vacuum and had been wanting a cordless vac. I was skeptical having had many battery operated stick vacs in the past. I decided to go for it knowing I could return it if I didn’t like it. I am very happy with it.I love the hassle free use.

This is a great light weight vacuum and it has a great suction. Cordless features are the best - allows a quick vacuum of any room without needing to plug in and move around.

I truly like the functionality and portability. I have Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis so I purchased this vacuum because of fatigue and physical weakness. I am very happy with the suction of the unit when running on high. However, The battery is very short lived on high and is very slow to charge. A fast charger option and exchangeable batteries would (like my Dewalt tools) greatly improve this unit. Sadly these options are not available. This Vacuum performs well otherwise. The attachments are functional but the charging station lacks the storage for all of them, so they must be stored somewhere else which is almost as inconvenient as the run-time. The phenomenal advancements in batteries leaves me quite disappointed in the battery and charging system especially considering the price of this unit.

It is a major improvement from the previous models. It is more powerful yet quieter. It also last so much longer. And the new system of opening the bin is way better and makes it easier to clean.

After looking for a vacuum to do spot cleaning after meals on our hardwood floors and going though two different vacuums prior. We choose to spend the money on this one and boy are we happy. We are now using this vacuum to do the whole house and not just the spot cleaning it was purchased for.

This product is easy to use and lightweight. I can easily vacuum the basement, main level, and upstairs of my house and not drain the battery. Great for cleaning the car out as well.

I am amazed at how well this Dyson vaccum cleaner not only works on carpet but also hardwood floors. It is light and powerful and does an excellent job of cleaning steps.

I have had a Dyson stick vac, the DC35, for a few years and it did an ok job for quick vacuuming. I saw the V6 advertised and it looked better with the more powerful motor and the fluffy head tool for hard floors and the motorized small job tool but everyone said in their reviews the charge did not last long. So I decided to spend the extra and get the V8 and I love it! It works as well as my plug in model, also a Dyson, but with much less effort. It picks up everything and I especially like the small motorized head for vacuuming furniture, it gets so much dust and dirt and cat hair. The only downside is the price but I got the 12 month same as cash offer so it works out.
