The V8 is so powerful that even picks up the play-doh pieces of the floors that my little ones leave behind. I mostly use it on tile floors and a few small area rugs. All the extra attachments are a plus too. Hands down to the makers of this extraordinary little helper.

With two toddlers, we truly love the convenience and quickness of grabbing this and vacuuming because before that it was sweeping after every meal. This reduces the time and gives us time to be with the kids.

Posted .Hi Jack, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the Dyson V8 Absolute. I am pleased to hear you are satisfied with the vacuum. The V8 will get 7 minutes in MAX mode for tougher jobs. 25 minutes in standard mode with the motorized cleaner head attached and 30 minutes with the soft roller cleanerhead or mini motorized tool attached. 40 minutes for any other tool. And takes 5.5 hours to charge, as advertised.

I like the cordless for stairs & where hose can't reach and areas where finding a plug is not so easy. 40 minutes only on non motorized attachments, you get a lot less using floor heads, & even less when set to Max suction. Would recommend as backup vac or to do touch up cleanings. We mostly have tile & wood floors with rugs so this works for us, it does struggle on high shag rug so if you have wall to wall carpet, stick to a regular machine.
