I am very disappointed and will continue to look for one that is made like this but more user-friendly for problem hands

Good vacuum

Posted .Hello Karen, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm so happy to hear that you found the Dyson V8 Absolute cord-free vacuum so easy to use. Your vacuum will come with standard and Max power modes. Our cordless models also have a run-time enhancing light touch trigger which ensures battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed. The total run time will be up to 40 minutes.
In Max power run time will be up to 7 minutes, and in standard power, you can expect run times of up to 30-40 minutes depending on which tool or attachments you are using.

Typical Dyson-over priced for what you get

Dust will come out of the seals. And dust will fly everywhere when emptying. Do Not get if you have allergies or have issues with dust.

Rest assured, Dyson machines are made from polycarbonate ABS which is the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. We subject them to 50,000 hours of testing and 550 individual tests. All of this to ensure they can withstand a lifetime's hard use.

Pretty good, out of energy fast

It has worked pretty much as advertised, failing on power after about ~10 min on max power, longer if using a combination of regular and max power. I am disappointed that the primary use I bought it for --- helping keep hardwood floors clean results in scratches on the floor in some cases! This was very frustrating, as it means I must use the smaller attachment with soft bristles. I am past the time to return the item..... not sure what we will do long term. Might recommend to others to wait until other better tested versions come out.

The V8 is designed for quick clean ups or in between cleanings as it does get 7 minutes in MAX mode. 25 minutes in standard mode with the motorized cleaner head attached and 30 minutes with the soft roller cleanerhead or mini motorized tool attached. 40 minutes for any other tool.
