I was very tired of my heavy and loud regular vacuum. I hated to get it out and use it. But I have pets. This is light and pretty quiet. I get it off the charger and tidy up quickly, even at night in my multi-unit dwelling. Doesn't bother anyone. And it really picks up well of course.

This vacuum is so worth it in my opinion. It's great suction so filth is cleaned up in no time plus the battery life is practically double what these other cordless vacuums give you. It's also light, easy storage, and to top it all of the design is eye catching to say the least.

Strong suction for a cordless vacuum cleaner - picked up even deep down dirt in carpeting. Battery life good. Loved all the attachments the V8 came with, for any cleaning job you would need around the house. Suited for small to medium sized areas and spot cleaning as needed.

I’ve had many cordless vacuums during the past 25 years. My first Dyson cordless was good but nothing close to the current V8. Wow! This vacuum is so effective at fine dust and the filtration is awesome! Also the versatility with separate carpet and floor heads is sooo nice. And the wand is fantastic. Great reach. Hardly use the upright Dyson anymore! The Dyson canister I also have and that’s really good too.

Another awesome Dyson product! I debated for months over buying this & I'm so glad I finally did! It is expensive, yes, but you definitely get what you pay for with Dyson. I have had a stand up Dyson (the original yellow one) for 9 years & it still works well. That's what convinced me to spend the money on this cordless. If you have littles, the hard floor attachment is so worth getting this model. Picks up cereal & those pesky crumbs so easily. I also use for carpet & rugs, however I find that I like to use the "max" setting for those, which takes more battery. I always put it back on the charger when I'm done & haven't had problems not having enough battery. If you want to vacuum your whole house at once, this probably isn't the one to get, but I still have my upright & this is great for every day uses. BONUS, your kids will probably enjoy using it, and can handle it! :-)

If you are like me and do your cleaning in your home "continually," (not setting aside an entire Saturday morning to clean, but getting done what you can here or there in the 15 minutes you have,) then this vacuum is for you. Additionally, if you have pets with hair... WOW! We have both a cat and a dog, and we have tons of pet hair around. The regular setting works great, but the super suction doesn't leave a single hair behind. And I'm pretty judgmental about the quality in that regard. The super suction does run out of battery much quicker (7 mins), but I find when I alternate between then, it's likely enough gumption to get our small space done. What I love most about it is the convenience of hanging it in the docking station, grabbing it for a quick clean up, easily changing the tool from a stand up to a hand held, then returning it to charge. Great product. A little pricey, but it seems worth it to me.

I do not know why I never invested in a Dyson vacuum before. Now that we have one, I cannot live without it. It is super light, comes with a bunch of handy attachments which we use all of them. Although it only lasts 40 minutes to a full charge, you can still get a lot done before it powers out. Vacuuming stairs and the car is a breeze now. Thank you Dyson for creating this beyond excellent vacuum!

I am a big fan of Dyson and was using V6 for many years. Recently I bought this V8 and found it to be amazingly quiet, more efficient and strong. Battery too seems to me much better and offers a great cleaning experience. Its easy to use and I love the product.

Give it a five stars because it meets my requirements and expectation. Looking for a lightweight vacuum for my 100% hardwood floor house, hard to reach area, vacuum car carpet, and small area carpet. The max position works well on sucking small area carpet beyond my expectation. Worry about the regular postion may not be powerful enough to vacuum whole house hardwood floor, but after days’ try, it did suck in all of the dirt and has a clean floor. Of course there are cons on this product. The Max section last only 7 minutes. hope it can last longer. Dyson does a good job by providing so many different functions accessories, but the problem becomes how to organize them and easy to get when I need any specific piece. Now I am Making a custom-made wood self to store/keep all pieces in my storage. Hope Dyson engineers can design/change their packaging box into a storage box after we unpack.

Love the attachments. Very powerful and convenient. Vacuuming a lot more frequently.

I love my V8 Absolute cordless. It is easy to use, effective in doing what a vacuum is purchased to do. Easy to clean the dirt from the dirt collector! The easy to clean part was very important as was the ease of use of the vacuum for a old coot. Okay, Cleaning is not really a joy but I my house is much cleaner now that I have purchased the V8 Absolute. BTW, the folks at Dyson are wonderful.

We bought this vacuum as an addition to our vacuum. We wanted something that was versatile for misc cleaning areas and have been pleased so far. Works great for stairs, couches and hard wood floors. The downfall is the battery but would still recommend this product. It would be nice if dyson added a backup battery if you were wanting to clean multiple areas for an extended period of time.

I have and love my Dyson Max, but the Dyson V-8 is beyond belief. I tried it the moment returned from Best Buy and had to empty it twice because it gave the shag carpet in my living room the best cleaning job EVER! Even on flat surfaces, the Dyson V-8 finds more dust than you can see. Vacuuming is one of my exercise routines because I get two things done at once--cleaning & exercise.

We’re tickled pink with this sucker. It has a lot of power for a unit so lightweight and the battery lasts plenty long to get a lot done. I really like most of the engineering that went into making every part of this vacuum too. If someone can give a good reason why the vacuumed material gathers in one spot in the receptical I might just add that missing star!

So glad I upgraded from the previous model. The battery lasts much longer, and the push-and-hold switch is so light my hand doesn't get tired any more. In addition, I can tell the new model is more powerful that the carpet feels clean and fresh.

Great vacuum, but a bit pricey and kind of heavy / awkward for a stick vacuum. Some use it as their main vacuum, and it is powerful but the head is small so I would not use it as my main tool for anything bigger than a small apartment. Super easy to empty. I like the wood floor attachment, which can pick up big things like cheerios.

We owned the model before this one and this vacuum is far better. Much better battery, suction, and most improved is the collection cup.
