V8 is Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this vacuum for my mom as a Christmas present, was very skeptical of its power and charge time based on some reviews I read, but now I know those reviews must be for defective vacuums, because the one I purchased works ABSOLUTELY GREAT. has sucked up anything we have tried to vacuum, and the battery charge is PLENTY, even on max suction. I have not been able to tell the difference between normal suction and Max suction, because normal suction has picked up everything we have tried with max. I am not a huge fan of the dyson big vacuums, but this handheld is great!

The V8 is great for in between cleanings, quick clean ups or small areas as it does feature 7 minutes in MAX mode for tougher jobs. 25 minutes in standard mode with the motorized cleaner head attached and 30 minutes with the soft roller cleanerhead or mini motorized tool attached. 40 minutes for any other tool.

Great Vacuum!

Though the battery is beginning to struggle a bit now). I just has the unit cleaned and the Hepa filter replaced. This was just amazing to have with two young kids and hardwood/flooring on the ground floor and carpet upstairs. It was easy enough to bring up or down, whenever disaster struck. It didn’t cause any scratches or damage to the hardwood. It was also useful to clean corners and webs. We moved a few times, we also used it to turnover properties- clean cupboards, edges, drawers and everything. It’s suction continued really well despite how intensely we used it. Also, it’s been light and easy enough for my 70 year old mom to use, which was great for her. A standard upright is a challenge for her with tripping/the cords. This has been simple and useable.

The V8 Absolute features two cleanerheads; a direct drive head with spinning brush bar - which is a great multi-floor tool, and our soft roller head, which was designed to be used on your hard floors. The soft woven nylon and anti-static carbon fibers make this the ideal tool for picking up finer dirt and dust from bare floor surfaces.
Dyson V8 vacuums have a run time of up to 40 minutes, when used in standard power mode. On MAX power, run time will be shorter due to the added boost of suction power. You should find that suction in standard power mode is sufficient for most tasks, while MAX is better suited for tough cleaning jobs. You may be interested to know that the new Dyson Cyclone V10 models have an advertised run time of up to 60 minutes, which is our longest run time to date.

I wish the associate at BB would had told me that. I will return it....

We speak to our owners frequently and they tell us that cordless vacuums have changed the way they clean. We hear they clean more often, but in shorter bursts, spending less than 20 minutes per clean.
Dyson V8 vacuums have a run time of up to 40 minutes, when used in standard power mode. On MAX power, run time will be shorter due to the added boost of suction power. You should find that suction in standard power mode is sufficient for most tasks, while MAX is better suited for tough cleaning jobs. I am happy to inform you that the V8 battery can be changed in the future in the event that it is ever needed. This vacuum was not intended for the battery to be change out regularly, however, if you would choose to do so, it is something that can be done by removing two screws which hold the battery securely in place.

Complete Waste of Money

The battery is lousy and won't last long enough for me to vacuum my guest bathroom and the stairs in my home! What a complete waste. Plus, it takes hours to charge back up. How is that efficient?
