It picks-up everything and I love that it is cordless -- so easy! After a year and a half the battery has stopped working so well. The max speed will only last for a minute or so. However, I can still get some time from the regular setting. The max setting worked much longer 10 minutes + prior. I will need to replace the battery soon or buy another one.
