Your Dyson V8™ cordless offers two powerful suction modes - regular and MAX. MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool). Good quality, low battery run time

We use the max suction option for best results, only wish the battery life were longer on that setting. We are only getting about 20 minutes of run time on it max per charge.

Great for stairs and light weight. The only reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars is because the first one I purchased was faulty right out of the box.

Works well on dog hair

Dyson not quality any more, avoid their vacuums

My second Dyson, the battery has to be replaced at 1 year. Brushes stopped working about 6 months later. Called warranty and they tried to sell me the replacement parts for a discount. I'm out, dyson fail.
