We have hardwood, carpeting and area rugs. No adjusting necessary. It’s cordless, easy to use and the docking station as a must! We bought it on sale so that was an additional plus. It also converts into a hand held tool which makes cleaning the stairs, easy, dusting, and cleaning the couch. We highly recommend this product.

I've never overfilled the bin and have followed all maintenance directions. Dyson said they'll exchange it but it'll take at least a month, and I have to bear the expense of shipping the defective one back to them, not to mention I'll be without a vacuum for a month or more. Not all it's cracked up to be. Save your money.

Posted .Hello Alex, this is Kelly with Dyson. Your Dyson V8™ cordless offers two powerful suction modes - regular and MAX. MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool). I don’t have pets so I can’t reference the pet hair questions however it does have 2 settings if you need more power in some areas. The only thing I didn’t like about it was a Dyson issue not a Best Buy issue, they pulled an Apple so the attachments which aren’t cheap that I bought for my old Dyson do not fit on the new one.... same with the plug I had to re hang it more holes on the wall.
