Dyson V8 Animal cordless is a hassle-free vacuum with powerful suction. The powerful direct-drive cleanerhead removes ground-in dirt and pet hair from carpets, and self-adjusts to pick up dirt and debris from your bare floors.
Dyson V8 Animal also features two suction modes; MAX and standard. Please keep in mind that the V8 offers plenty of suction on normal power to effectively clean your floors because of the motorized brush bar. MAX power is really only needed for tough cleaning jobs. Also, while many do use Dyson cordless machines as their main vacuum at home, if you prefer a longer run time, we’d recommend one of our compact uprights or canister models.

It doesn't stand up on its own, which can be a hassle, especially for an older person. It's lightweight, easy to use, and easy to dump.

Posted .Hello Daniel, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you felt like there wasn't enough suction in your Dyson V8 Animal. Dyson V8 vacuums have a run time of up to 40 minutes, when used in standard power mode. On MAX power, run time will be shorter due to the added boost of suction power. You should find that suction in standard power mode is sufficient for most tasks, while MAX is better suited for tough cleaning jobs. You may be interested to know that the new Dyson Cyclone V10 models have an advertised run time of up to 60 minutes, which is our longest run time to date.

This vacum fits underneath our coaches as well to get the dust that builds up underneath. I bought an attachment holder to mount next to the vacuum to hold the extra attachments that cam will the vacuum.

It lasted a good 30+ min to do our entire house. About 2000sqf. Especially if you do small clean ups every other day. Strong suction, does the carpets too.
