Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm sorry to hear that you've encountered a short run time with your Dyson V8 Animal. Your vacuum will come with standard and Max power modes. Our cordless models also have a run-time enhancing light touch trigger which ensures battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed. The total run time will be up to 40 minutes.
In Max power run time will be up to 7 minutes, and in standard power, you can expect run times of up to 30-40 minutes depending on which tool or attachments you are using. Having a shorter run time does sound unusual, and we'd value the opportunity to go over your machine with you.

And I was hesitant spending the money on a Dyson thinking it was a gimmick. NO!!!! This thing picks up pet hair! I actually placed the vacuum on the sofa just to see quickly... all the dog and cat hair GONE!!

December 25, 2023 I used the website to diagnostic that the battery pack was faulty. I called Dyson the next day. Waiting time was much too long. A spare battery has finally shipped yesterday and I will not see it before January 5, 2023. For a brand new unit this isn't good service. I see nickel and dime having propriety to reputation.
