On carpet this thing is really picks up everything especially on the high setting.

Also, if you don’t keep the filter in the top clean it loses suction quickly. Real hassle when you’re doing a project including vacuuming up drywall dust. Expect more for the money.

Posted .Hi Mark, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for your review of the Dyson V8 Animal. Your machine will require filter washing every 30 days. This is to ensure that the airflow path is kept clear, and that your machine maintains its proper suction and overall performance. With regard to vacuuming substances such as drywall dust, you will want to make sure you're not doing this often or in large quantities. Drywall dust or other powdery substances can get trapped inside of the cyclone. This part of the machine cannot be cleaned with water, and if left inside can drastically reduce your suction power. It has a run time of about 15-20 minutes in a full charge. To vacuum a house with multiple levels, you will need to recharge 6 times.

Electricity Leak

It is cordless, but when I used on the second day, I felt my hand was electric shock. My son tried and had the same. Now I had to wear a glove to use, but sometime it still went through the glove.

What you described is a build up of static electricity. This can occur when the brushhead/tool moves back and forth over certain surfaces. Using a dryer sheet to wipe down the machine can help dissipate any static build up.

I am happy to hear how pleased you have been with the performance of your vacuum, thus far in your use. Dyson V8 Animal cordless is a hassle-free vacuum with powerful suction. The powerful direct-drive cleanerhead removes ground-in dirt and pet hair from carpets, and self-adjusts to pick up dirt and debris from your bare floors.
In regards to your inquiry, I am happy to inform you that the V8 battery can be changed in the future, in the rare event that it is ever needed. This vacuum was not intended for the battery to be change out regularly, however, if you would choose to do so, it is something that can be done by removing two screws which hold the battery securely in place.
