The one thing I don't like about it is the fact you have to hold the button down the entire time you are vacuuming. It does not have a switch that you can turn the machine on/off. Dysan customer support is good.

While the suction is pretty good, it dies within 5 minutes and will require a recharge. The charging process will also take too long for the barely 5 mins of vacuuming you can do.

Bad wand design.

Or if you do, make sure you fully test it within the 14 day return window. Bought as gift to wife and didn’t assemble immediately. Connection to wand is crappy loose design and constantly looses connection. Best Buy forces you to go to Dyson for any support.

This thing is amazing at clean up after our puppy. We used this vacuum 3x or 4x a week, and it has been very reliable. Long battery life is a big plus also.

There’s obviously a scam going on and I would question whether Best Buy is reselling the attachments.

I’m coming from another stick Dyson which I have NEVER ran out of battery. This one I can’t vacuum more than my sofa with the upholstery attachment without it dying. After recharging for an hour and a half, it died after ONE hallway about 15 feet long!

Dyson V8 vacuums have a run time of up to 40 minutes, when used in standard power mode. On MAX power, run time will be shorter due to the added boost of suction power. You should find that suction in standard power mode is sufficient for most tasks, while MAX is better suited for tough cleaning jobs. You may be interested to know that the new Dyson Cyclone V10 models have an advertised run time of up to 60 minutes, which is our longest run time to date.

Posted .Hey Joe, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear you've found the V8's run time to be disappointing. Your Dyson V8™ cordless offers two powerful suction modes - regular and MAX. MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool).
