The V8 is really good: incredible suction, lightweight, relatively quiet, and reasonable battery life. The attachments are functional and proved useful in removing dust from couch cushions, miniblinds, and furniture/artworks hanging on walls and high places. My only con is having to hold the trigger while using it. I'd have preferred a single action switch. Great vacuum, highly recommend.

Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Generally speaking, our cordless models provide the most efficient household clean, and are able to effectively clean every floor surface. This is due to the adjustable suction power that these machines offer. Right out of the box, your vacuum is set to MAX suction mode. This mode does provide less run time, but also gives a powerful boost of suction for more stubborn messes or larger debris. Placing the machine in to regular mode does lessen the suction, but also makes vacuuming carpeting easier.
