The Charge only lasts 10 min. Not even to clean the halves of the house and my house only has 1700 square feet

The V8 Animal is the perfect tool for animal owners, and works for a variety of other things as well. In the box you get the cordless Vacuum, Direct Drive Cleaner Head, Mini Motorized Tool, Mini Soft Dusting Brush, Crevice Tool, and a Combination Tool. As well as the AC adapter cord for charging the Vacuum and a very convenient docking station you can screw to the wall for easy storage. The included tools and connectors make this much more than just an animal clean up device. I really like the ability to use it to vacuum out a car without having to worry about where to plug it in. And this is just one of the many different things you can do with all the included connectors and heads. The suctions is very powerful as well. Even after vacuuming my floor with a standard vacuum it still picked up dust, dirt, as well as animal hair that the other vacuum missed. It has 2 power modes to choose from for what your needs are. If you use the lower setting you can get up to 40 minutes of power. You can also use the included extension tool to reach up high, or other hard to reach areas like under couches, etc. And since it is cordless you are not constricted by how long your power cord is, or if there is a power outlet nearby. And once you are done it has a very easy ejection that makes it very easy to dump out everything you've picked up while cleaning. And when the filter needs cleaning you just pop it out, clean it, and your good to go. This is a great cleaning tool, and makes the not so fun job of cleaning a lot more tolerable. And its all backed up by Dysons 2 year warranty just in case you need to use it. If you are looking for an all in one tool to clean your house with pets, or for other cleaning this is a great choice.

Before getting my hands on the Dyson V8 Animal, I was using a similarly-designed vacuum—only it wasn't cordless. Compared to the competition, the Dyson is lighter, has excellent suction power, and is exceptionally easy to clean. With a full charge, I can nearly vacuum my whole house (2-story and basement) on the normal suction mode. That being said, I don't like to spend a whole lot of time vacuuming. That's what makes the V8 such a great option for me. I no longer have to deal with cables and tangling, or having to move from one outlet to another. You simply pull the trigger when you need to go, and let go when you need to stop. This gives me much more flexibility in also getting the most out of the battery, as I can simply let go of the trigger whenever its suction is unneeded. It's very lightweight and comfortable to use—unlike the previous vacuum I had (which I didn't recommend for those with arthritis), this Dyson vacuum does a better job at suction, and doesn't rely more on the floor attachment's drag in order to catch dirt, dust, etc. Swapping attachments is a very quick process, and the extension rod helps you reach higher places. I've found them to work quite well without any cleanup issues. For someone like me who hates the hassles of corded vacuums, but needs to vacuum more regularly, the Dyson V8 tackles a lot of the issues that I have. Unfortunately, that does come at a price premium. But for me, this is the best lightweight cordless vacuum available at this time, and I'd much rather spend more and have a vacuum that lets me clean quickly and thoroughly than a vacuum that is much less mobile and agile like the Dyson V8.

The battery dies very quickly. Instead of 5 hours running, it dies within a few minutes even on normal operation.

Run-time a little short of vacuuming the whole house..

This is my first Dyson product, and I do not understand the hype-at all. 1- you literally have to hold the button the entire time you want to use it. How, after this many generations, is that possibly a thing? Even gas pumps have a mechanical way not to have to hold a gas pump while you’re filling up. 2- the little stand doesn’t have the ability to hold all the add ons. Or if it does, it’s not in the cryptic manual that is designed to save them money instead of explain things. 3- it’s not as easy to maneuver or as light as I expected. My arm literally hurt after trying to vacuum an area rug.
