I really enjoy this vacuum! And it holds charge great!

Run-time a little short of vacuuming the whole house..

The battery dies very quickly. Instead of 5 hours running, it dies within a few minutes even on normal operation.

Before getting my hands on the Dyson V8 Animal, I was using a similarly-designed vacuum—only it wasn't cordless. Compared to the competition, the Dyson is lighter, has excellent suction power, and is exceptionally easy to clean. With a full charge, I can nearly vacuum my whole house (2-story and basement) on the normal suction mode. That being said, I don't like to spend a whole lot of time vacuuming. That's what makes the V8 such a great option for me. I no longer have to deal with cables and tangling, or having to move from one outlet to another. You simply pull the trigger when you need to go, and let go when you need to stop. This gives me much more flexibility in also getting the most out of the battery, as I can simply let go of the trigger whenever its suction is unneeded. It's very lightweight and comfortable to use—unlike the previous vacuum I had (which I didn't recommend for those with arthritis), this Dyson vacuum does a better job at suction, and doesn't rely more on the floor attachment's drag in order to catch dirt, dust, etc. Swapping attachments is a very quick process, and the extension rod helps you reach higher places. I've found them to work quite well without any cleanup issues. For someone like me who hates the hassles of corded vacuums, but needs to vacuum more regularly, the Dyson V8 tackles a lot of the issues that I have. Unfortunately, that does come at a price premium. But for me, this is the best lightweight cordless vacuum available at this time, and I'd much rather spend more and have a vacuum that lets me clean quickly and thoroughly than a vacuum that is much less mobile and agile like the Dyson V8.

Battery died less than 25 minutes whether is was on the high setting or low setting.

This vacuum is an amazing product!! Let me first say that my life has been transformed going to a cordless vacuum. I didn't realize how much time was wasted flopping a cord, and moving it from outlet to outlet. Additionally, I normally wouldn't wall mount something like this, but I took the plunge and screwed it in because I have been so impressed. The vacuum is lighter than I expected, and has enough battery for me to do multiple rooms on three floors. I have a mix of tile, hardwood, and carpet, and it works well on all of them. I even did two staircases at the max suction setting. I think the only function this product is missing would be a good deep carpet clean. If you have a lot of carpet, I would recommend still having a corded full size vacuum for occasional deep cleans. This little guy does a great job, but I don't feel it really gets into the carpet. Don't get me wrong, it picks up the dirt and makes great carpet lines, but I don't think this product was really designed for full out carpet cleaning. That being said, the ease of use and amount of battery life makes this a very, very, very versatile vacuum. In addition being so amazing, it also looks really cool.

This is my first Dyson product, and I do not understand the hype-at all. 1- you literally have to hold the button the entire time you want to use it. How, after this many generations, is that possibly a thing? Even gas pumps have a mechanical way not to have to hold a gas pump while you’re filling up. 2- the little stand doesn’t have the ability to hold all the add ons. Or if it does, it’s not in the cryptic manual that is designed to save them money instead of explain things. 3- it’s not as easy to maneuver or as light as I expected. My arm literally hurt after trying to vacuum an area rug.

Battery is a joke! I can only vacuum my stairs before it dies. Battery life is 15 minutes 20 minutes max. Save your money don’t buy this.

For being a Dyson this vacuum was not as powerful as we thought it would. We ended up taking it back, the price did not equal performance.

Cheaply made product, overpriced. Battery dies after 10 minutes of use.

Worst vacuum I've ever had. Battery lasts 15 minutes max. Have to speed vacuum to get done before the battery dies because it then has to charge at least a few hours till you can use it again. Never again Dyson, never again cordless. $400 down the drain!
