    Battery life is terrible, a full charge will complete less than 2 rooms. While it is working the suction is good, but this vacuum is not useful.

    Suction is not that great and charge does not last long.

      Hello Chelsea, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to learn you've felt the suction in your V8 isn't as powerful as you like. Your machine offers two modes of suction power - regular for everyday cleaning, and MAX, for an added boost for those more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool). If you feel that your V8 might be malfunctioning, we do offer a two-year warranty on this product. Just reach out to our customer support at askdysonUS@dyson.com so we can help.

    Worst Purchase

    This was the worst purchase I’ve made at Best Buy. If I could give no stars I would. This vacuum dies after vacuuming one room no matter how long you keep it charged. I’ve tried numerous times. Someone from Geek Squad was scheduled to come in to try to fix but never ended up coming. I tried to return over the phone but the Best Buy customer service via phone is terrible.

      Out-the-box, the V8 is commonly set to max mode which features a total 7 minutes of run time. The extended run suction mode is ideal for the majority of cleaning tasks, while the max mode is designed for particularly stubborn messes.

    The battery lasts around 5 mins which is not enough time to clean my place. Cant return now. Sucktion is good.

    Pros , it has decent power , light easy to clean and use Cons short battery life only 10 min fully charge handle is too small and uncomfortable to use I will return it

    I love this vacuum but I have to put the charger in a specific position to get it to charge. It’s been like that since it was brand new. I’m afraid one day it’ll stop charging.

    awful battery

    The battery would last for 45 minutes for the first month but after that we were lucky to get 10 minutes out of it after charging it all night

    If I had reviewed this in the first two months I had the vacuum I would have given it five stars because it was an awesome vacuum. The second year I owned it it barely keeps its charge for 10 minutes. Very expensive vacuum and you only get one good year out of it

    Happy with this purchase. It does what’s needed to be done. Portable, good vacuum and hope that it lasts a long time. First Dyson vacuum that I bought. It was on sale so the price is not that bad since it’s from a reputable company. Will recommend!

      Hey there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The battery run time that your V8 offers will be up to 40 minutes, in regular suction mode, when using any non-motorized attachment. Motorized tools give up to 30 minutes of run time. MAX mode, which provides a boost of suction power for tougher cleaning jobs, will give about 7 minutes of run time.     All I heard was how awesome this vacuum was ~ very disappointing that after a full charge , the vacuuming time was only 10 minutes or less. Several attempts made, still same outcome. Needless to say it was returned to the store for a refund

    Poor battery life

    Everything is great about this product except the battery. It has a run time of about 15-20 minutes in a full charge. To vacuum a house with multiple levels, you will need to recharge 6 times.

    Best Sale ever!

    This Vacuum was everything we wanted in a vacuum and some!!! It lasted a good 30+ min to do our entire house. About 2000sqf. Especially if you do small clean ups every other day. Strong suction, does the carpets too.

    My wife first shared the idea of getting a cordless vaccum and I was skeptical because I thought it wouldn't have enough power and boy was I wrong. This thing is powerful for it's size and is a must have. 5 stars!

    This is the second Dyson item I purchased for my wife and the second that's a total failure. We charged the item completely and when my wife began vacuuming the new apartment, it only lasted 14 minutes and didn't turn on anymore. The other item from Dyson I own is a hair dryer air wrap that keeps turning off and working whenever it pleases.

    Battery performance is poor

    It is good while operating but very poor battery. On full charge it hardly lasted 20 mins. It take 2 to 3 hours to get full charge. Bin is very small.

    It's so small yet so capable... Very easy to use, mount and unmount from the wall and can suck up pretty much anything small. Very lightweight; your hands won't get sore vacuuming all day. As a cherry on top, it has a turbo mode too.

    This was an awful experience. After my first appointment was canceled with short notice, a subsequent appointment was not for another 10 days. A third party service arrived and after 3 minutes in the house told me they could do nothing. I am contesting the charge and still have not had a service call after visiting store 3 times.
