Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool). Max is for spot cleaning only and will provide a 5-10 minute runtime, High Suction will provide UP TO 40 minutes depending on the tool being used. The Dyson V8 features up to 40 minutes of run time, depending on the mode or combination of modes/tools used. The V8 features two modes: extended run high suction mode and max mode. Out-the-box, the machine may be set to max mode. Max mode is designed to be a temporary boost of power for particularly stubborn messes and provides 7 minutes total of run time. Extended run high suction mode is designed to handle the majority of cleaning tasks and provides up to 40 minutes of run time, depending on your combination of tools used.
