Posted .Hi Kevin, this is Kelly with Dyson. Your Dyson V8™ cordless offers two powerful suction modes - regular and MAX. MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool). If you feel that your V8 might be malfunctioning, we do offer a two-year warranty on this product. Just reach out to our customer support at askdysonUS@dyson.com so we can help.

Battery life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had the vacuum for a little over a year. Has only been used on hardwood floors, and one small rug. Battery barely lasts 10 mins now on a full charge, not to mention takes a solid 4-5 hours to fully charge itself. I'd save your money, research a different brand, and stay away from dyson.

Not Worth the Money, Unreliable

Amazing at First

But my vacuum is now about 1.5 yrs old and it literally lasts 90 seconds and I have to recharge it. I can’t even finish a bedroom. It really is the most frustrating thing ever. It takes me 2 days to vacuum my house.

If you have something in your home such as hardwood, you may wish to confer with your flooring manufacturer to see if they recommend using a spinning brush bar on their flooring. The V8 cordless machine is designed to provide up to 40 minutes of run time, depending on the mode or combination of modes/tools used. The V8 features two modes: max mode and extended run high suction mode. Out-the-box, the V8 is usually set to max mode. Max mode is designed to be a temporary boost of power for particularly stubborn messes, and provides a total of 7 minutes. The extended run high suction mode is ideal for the majority of cleaning tasks and provides up to 40 minutes.
In terms of accessories, this V8 cordless listing comes with: Combination tool, Crevice tool and Hair screw tool.
