I’m coming from another stick Dyson which I have NEVER ran out of battery. This one I can’t vacuum more than my sofa with the upholstery attachment without it dying. After recharging for an hour and a half, it died after ONE hallway about 15 feet long!

This powerful device easily handled my 1200ish square foot house on a charge, even with a dog that shed so much I have to dump the container about 3 times per vacuuming. Even better - the vacuum works WONDERS on furniture. My wife and I pretty much only wear black and we allow both dogs on the couches, resulting in the need for tons of lint rollers. After one vacuuming, I was able sit down on the couch and found only a few hairs on me, and those most likely from her post-vacuum shedding.

The cup is small so it needs to be emptied frequently. The filter can clog easily with fine particles but is easily washed. Not the best for carpeting.

Posted .Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the Dyson V8 Absolute. I am sorry to hear you are less than satisfied with your vacuum. The V8 is advertised to get 7 minutes in MAX mode for tougher jobs. 25 minutes in standard mode with the motorized cleaner head attached and 30 minutes with the soft roller cleanerhead or mini motorized tool attached. 40 minutes for any other tool. Posted .Hello, this is Summer with Dyson. We're so sorry to hear that you are experiencing low run times with your V8. Your Dyson V8 cordless offers two powerful suction modes - regular and MAX. MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool).
