I've never overfilled the bin and have followed all maintenance directions. Dyson said they'll exchange it but it'll take at least a month, and I have to bear the expense of shipping the defective one back to them, not to mention I'll be without a vacuum for a month or more. Not all it's cracked up to be. Save your money.

Having said that, if we are exchanging a machine for you, you are not responsible for the cost of shipping that to us, and it sounds like the process wasn't explained properly.
