I bought this Dyson when it was on sale. After 8 months of use, I would give this vacuum a 4 out of 5 (overall: good). Pros: Lightweight Durable build Easy to empty/clean strong suction (on highest setting) The vacuum head doesn't not clump with hair or debris and is easy to clean Cons: Battery dies (relatively) quickly after 8 months of daily use) There is no light on the vacuum head (previous vacuums had an LED light that made vacuum darker areas very convenient. The vacuum head is rather tall, and cannot get into some spaces of my house The low setting is rather worthless because the suction is very low. Overall: This is a good vacuum however being cordless it runs into the same issue I have had with previous vacuums; the battery eventually does not hold a charge for long, particularly if you use the highest setting.

The Dyson V8 cordless vacuum is an excellent vacuum for an apartment. It can do it all, from floor vacuuming (flexible floor attachment can get under furniture and beds) to cleaning surfaces and knickknacks. I have used it to vacuum the interior of my car, given that Best Buy sells a car and boat Dyson that is the V8 without the floor attachment. The battery lasts long enough to get most cleaning done (recharging gives me a chance to sit down and rest). The regular power setting is all I use; the max setting is too powerful for what I use it for. The real convenience is being able to pick it up and vacuum without having to find an outlet or deal with a cord. It's really light weight, too, so I'm not straining to hold a vacuum cleaner with one hand while I'm trying to clean with the other. Discharging the dust container is really easy, though it is not as squeaky clean as the ads say. The door will get dust on it, which then needs to be wiped off. The wall bracket lets me store the V8 out of the way and keep it charged for when I need it. The only downside is the cost. It's rather expensive compared to other brands. Given the versatility and convenience, if it lasts five years, then the V8 will have been worth the purchase.

There’s little scratches and dirt on the surfaces right after I received pkg also pkg was dirty and delayed. I will not use bestbuy delivery service.

This is an outstanding vaccuum. Portable yet powerful. Lightweight and a long reach. Astounding attachments. The only problem is our last one went through 3 batteries. Hope they've fixed that in the new model V8.

The Dyson V8 is a total game-changer! It’s super lightweight, easy to use, and has great suction power. I love that it’s cordless, so I don’t have to deal with annoying wires while cleaning. The battery life is solid—I can clean my whole place on one charge. It works great on both carpets and hard floors, and the attachments make it easy to clean furniture and hard-to-reach spots. Plus, emptying the bin is quick and mess-free. Overall, it’s been totally worth it. If you’re looking for a reliable, hassle-free vacuum, this is it!

This Vacuum is a decent price and has amazing performance. It’s light, nimble, and while is a bit plasticky and wiggles a little with attachments feels so good to use daily. The turbo mode only lasts like 10 minutes but boy does it have power! The Handheld mode is where it shines. It’s so ergonomically fit for your hand, and you don’t get too tired using it. I won’t lie I returned it from BestBuy and bought the same model directly from Dyson because they included a hardwood floor attatchment as well as the regular one for free and it’s like $60 so it was worth it. The handheld fabric vacuum roller is absolutely clutch even without pets but with pets it’s a lifesaver. Absolutely recommend!

Pros: Great cordless vacuum cleaner for small quick jobs. Its light, easy to mauever, and picks up nearly everything in its path. Cons: the battery life is disappointing. Overall, great vacuum for small apt and quick jobs. Would recommend!

I'm REALLY HAPPY with this vacuum!! I bought this to replace our Dyson Ball vacuum that finally died after over 10 years of service. I find myself vacuuming more because of the convenience of just picking it up and turning it on. No more cord to unroll, search for an outlet, then re-roll. It's plenty powerful enough, especially on Max, and the battery life is more than satisfactory. It's super maneuverable and easily reaches under most of our furniture. It's lightweight, and the attachments click on and off effortlessly. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that hair doesn't accumulate on the brushes. And, there's a LOT of hair in my house between me, a Sheltie, one long-haired cat, and one medium-haired cat. And, I REALLY like the way it empties so completely. With the old Ball vacuum, I often had to fish hair out from around the filter, but not with this one! I just wish the charging station had a place for storing more attachments than just the crevice and brush tools. But, I definitely recommend this product.

Over the years, owned several vacuums, including a few cordless. This is by far the best stick vacuum in the house. Compared to our older Dyson DC56, it's slightly bigger, slightly heavier and a lot more powerful while being quieter. It's really a big difference compared to the older model. It's actually impressive, the suction is higher than on many corded vacuums. The vacuum is very modular and anything that's involved with dirt can be cleaned. The whole dustbin assembly can be removed from the vacuum. It has two operation modes: A standard and full. The full suction mode feels a lot more powerful and likely overkill for most uses. Dyson claims it has up to 40 minutes battery. I could not test this but cleaned different rooms and battery indicated 2 out of 3 bars. The 'Animal' model comes with the handheld vacuum, a 'dock', power adapter, the extension rod, a direct drive floor cleaner (it has its own motor), a mini motorized tool (Great for car seats and sofas), a combination brush, crevice extension (fixed length) and a soft dusting brush (Good to clean appliances because the bristles are very soft). The step-up model from this is the 'Absolute'. Besides colors, the only difference I could find is that it has an additional soft roller head (the whole assembly with a soft roller for hard floors). The roller that comes is fine for both carpets and hard floors, and it's designed in a way that hair is not easily tangled. Lots of other vacuums we had would collect lots of hairs on the brush, making it messy to clean. The way the dustbin is cleaned lifts the stainless steel filter against a rubber ring, so it's cleaned on its own. On the older model we had sometimes we had to pick through the bin to remove hair. Not with this. Since this model has a thin stainless steel mesh as the primary filter, a lot less dust goes though the top of the vacuum. It also has a washable filter before the engine and a small HEPA filter before the exhaust. Because this filter is the last, I don't see the need to ever replace it. Way I didn't like is the design of the 'dock'. It's functional and should work well, but have to drill holes on the wall to hang it, and then run the power cable from it. I would much preferred to have the option of a pedestal, but it's not available for this model. It can also be powered by plugging it in directly to the power adapter, which is what we do. The other issue is that while it's overall very light and easy to use, because the engine is on the handle, it might get a bit heavy after a while, compared with upright vacuums or other stick vacuums where the engine Is near the bottom and thus more balanced. Like in other Dyson models, the battery is not easily replaceable. Also the top of the vacuum is spay-painted, and will likely scratch. Also, to keep in mind, if you have older Dyson models, the tools won't work on this because the clip is on the tool, not on the vacuum. I was looking for a flexible crevice tool and it's not available for this model.

The Dyson V8 is an excellent cordless vacuum that combines strong suction with lightweight design. It’s very easy to maneuver, works great on both carpets and hard floors, and the battery lasts long enough to clean an entire home on a single charge. The attachments are useful for furniture and tight spaces, and the dust bin is simple to empty. Overall, it’s a powerful, convenient vacuum that makes everyday cleaning quick and easy. I love my lightweight Dyson stick vac. I’m over 70 and using the vacuum is so much easier for me than other heavier vacs. It also does pick up the dirt very well in from my short pile carpet I have. My only wish is that the battery lasted longer before recharging. I’m looking into buying an extra battery for the vacuum.

I love this vacuum. Buying this after a corded vacuum is so easy. With 3 pets & 3 kids, its easy to pull it out and clean an area (hardwood & carpet) quickly and put it away again. Its super lightweight & sleek. I didnt loveeeeee the price tag but its convenience makes it worth it. However what the heck is up with the battery life?! It says it lasts 45 minutes but i dont believe it...

My daughters first apartment has 3 different types of flooring: hard wood, ceramic tiles in the bathroom and carpet in the bedroom. AND she has a dog. This vacuum cleaner is perfect, she use to complain about having to sweep and dust everyday and many times her old vacuum would not do a good job getting the dog hair off her sofa. Now with the Dyson she can vacuum everyday with a breeze; it’s lightweight, the cordless feature allows her to go from room to room without having to worry if it will reach. The suction is that if a industrial vacuum; she has a black cloth sofa and it suck’s up everything that is on it. Well worth the money.

We LOVE our Dyson V8 Cordless! Works effortlessly on both carpets and ceramic tile floors. Easily picks up dust, crumbs, and hair from our dark-coated GSD. If you have a large area, you'll empty the dust cup a few times during use, but it only takes a few seconds. The included attachments and wall-mount docking station give you everything you'll need in a single box! The "MAX Suction" setting is fantastic for deeply-embedded dirt in carpet fibers, but even the standard setting is more powerful than most vacuums on the market - we rarely use the MAX setting and still get a fantastic clean!

I would give this a 5 star rating IF it sucked up pet food and larger objects without having to lift the vacuum on top the larger objects. You can of course change the component to the slanted nozzle to pick up these things, but it sorta loses its magic when you have to stop and change the head to do that. You should be able to glide over food without extra work. That aside, It's been my favorite vacuum and it makes the chore fun. Super light, super powerful and the interchangeable heads are super handy and friendly to use. I would certainly buy a dyson again, but may try to find one that sucks up pet food/larger objects without having to lift the vacuum and place it right on top of the objects in order to pick them up. 4 1/2 stars.

I’ve been very happy with this Dyson V8. It’s lightweight, powerful, and makes cleaning quick and easy. The battery life is good for everyday use, and the included accessories are very useful. Highly recommend!

I was moving to a smaller place and decided to buy this Dyson stick vac. My biggest nemesis in housekeeping has been cat hair on my furniture. Despite trying out numerous brushes, rakes, and other devices, I would be forced to use a sticky lint roller one 6 inch square at a time to pull up the hair. The small upholstery attachment on the Dyson is amazing, pulling out the vast majority of the cat hair easily. That alone paid for the higher price on this powerful vac. For the rest of my house with laminate floors and carpet, the vac works like a dream, and by the residue in the collection chamber, it’s getting EVERYTHING. Best purchase I’ve made in a long time.

I love my handy dandy vacuam. It is light and has good suction. He gets the job done, even jn tight spaces!

Only thing lacking is battery life.

I already have a cordless Dyson hand vacuum which I use ALL the time (I have cats) and have been totally happy with. But I wanted one that's floor length for other kinds of vacuuming. Being a small person I got the lighter model. It's been great. I know some people don't like the 40 minute battery time but that hasn't been a problem for me. It's so much easier to grab and use with little effort compared to my older, much heavier traditional type vacuum. And since I don't have to deal with a cord I go quicker. My only suggestion concerns the power button which you have to hold down while using it, which isn't a big deal but if they were a way to lock it in place that would be a good feature.
