Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really thought I did a good amount of research before finally picking this vacuum and now I’m curious whether those reviews were lies. This is the cheapest and worst vacuum I have owned. I have had it for a year now and regret everyday that I bought it. The cons are as follows: can’t accidentally bump into any furniture because it will scratch, you have to hold down the button the entire time vacuuming therefore making your hand sore, there are two suction options; one keeps the battery on for longer but the suction is terrible and the max suction works good but drains the battery very quick so even in my home that is about 700 sq ft I can’t do the entire space before it dies. The only sort of positive thing about this is you don’t have to change a bag and it’s fairly easy to clean the canister.

I was amazed, the first time I used it, how much dirt was picked up. It is so easy to grab and go that I find myself vacuuming more frequently. My house stay a lot cleaner. The only drawback is the battery life. At full strength it only lasts about 8 minutes. However, it gives me time to get all the high traffic areas. Using the lower power setting extends the amount of time it runs before needing to be recharged.

This vacuum is so handy, efficient and works on every level. It truly lives up to the Dyson name. It’s easy to dispense the dirt and hair into the garbage. I don’t have to touch anything unlike the Electrolux we had. The only thing I don’t like about this vacuum is the wall hanger - there’s not enough space to put all the attachments. Love this vacuum!!

Great Vacuum...for the most part

Wife and I bought it for our home because we mostly have wood flooring and it doesn't take much to "sweep" the dirt and debris off the wood floor. Pros: - 2 power modes - Great attachments; those included fulfill nearly every need in our home with pets - Easy to empty bin - Wall Mount is creative and very useful - Rarely clogs and when it does, very easy to clear out - The low power mode does more than you think! Cons: - High Power mode consumes entire battery in under 10 minutes - Canister can fill up quickly with pets and carpet - Loud - Very slow charge time; I assume they do this to prevent dendrites from forming in Lithium Battery - Attachment points wear and loosen over time - Power Adapter for charging is large and horizontal; great on single outlets, but bad for larger outlet faces (4 or more plugs) Overall, we've been rather pleased with this cordless vacuum. There are obvious downsides, the biggest being the battery life on the higher setting. I would not recommend this vacuum if you have a majority carpet in your home. For our wood floor home (90% is wood) it has performed very well and kept up with nearly daily use! Worth the money if you can get over some of the clunky and time consuming details of using it.

We're happy to hear that you've been so pleased with the two suction modes, and the included attachments. Our Animal model does include the mini motorhead, which is a great tool for picking up pet hair from furniture, stairs or other hard to reach areas. We're also happy to hear that you have been happy with how easy this machine is to clean and keep clear of debris.
The V8 does take some time to charge, once fully depleted. After you use your machine, you can store it on the dock so it's always got a full charge. We do suggest, if using the machine in the MAX suction mode, to allow 10-15 minutes for your machine to cool down before placing on the dock.
