Bought this vacuum as a second to the larger Hoover Pet Pro I already have for cleaning the linoleum and vinyl parts of the apartment as well as quick cleanups where I don't want to lug the giant vacuum around the apartment. This works very well and surprisingly can get pretty deep in medium-pile carpet and picks up a ton of the cat hair that gets down there. It really shines though when you're on some sort of hard surface, being extremely easy to maneuver and picks up all sorts of debris with ease. The only downside I really have is that the battery leaves quite a bit to be desired, especially if you're on the high-powered setting. If you're vacuuming a large area, this might not be the best vacuum for you.

Great work horse vacuum. I have several for different places and uses. Very pricey, but, it is better than the cheaper brands. No cord makes it easy to quickly spot clean things.

The best vacuum I have ever used. So easy to assemble and charges quickly. Perfect for my apartment!

Having previously owned a Dyson V6 that finally died on me I decided to upgrade to the V8 Animal and this thing is so much stronger than the V6. Solid design, strong battery life, and an excellent selection of different adapters.

I have a big Kirby. Work great use it and then the Dyson . It pick up a lot more .

Its light weight and effectiveness in cleaning the floors has worked well for us.

We have mostly hardwood floors but this works great on the carpet we do have. Very light weight, cordless so I can go over the entire house without worry. We have a chocolate lab and the amount of dog hair it picked up is gross but it works like a charm.

Great vacuum! No dragging cords and unplugging and plugging in. Great power and the accessories are so easy to use! The machine gets into all tight places and swivel head cuts down on lifting a heavy machine and moving furniture.

Had to return it batter lasted not more then 5 minutes . Says top battery life is 40 minutes but we tried it over and over and it wouldn’t get past 5 minutes I don’t recommend it .

Was very easy to return and exchange for a new one!

Works great, gets up all the cat hair, I have 3. Easy to use and clean. Love it!

I've used the same Rainbow for the last 24 years and it still runs, but I've broken a latch for the water basin and it makes it even less convenient to carry up and down the stairs. I've always heard decent things about Dyson, and I like their technology, so I decided to get the Dyson V8 Animal and I think it was a great decision. It's been probably a month or so and I use it almost every day. It certainly doesn't have the power of the Rainbow, but from a hand-held, it's not something you can really expect. What it lacks in airflow, it makes up for in portability, and design. When/if this one quits, I will certainly purchase another.

I loved my old Dyson but it was old and they didnt make the rrplacement hose for it any longer so I was left with finding a new vacuum. And what better than my favorite vacuum but cordless!! Well it is not as great as I imagined. When you stop vacuuming it drops some of the dirt back out and the battery does not last long at all. I am lucky to get 20 mi utes out of it on regular mode and high mode not even able to finish my room. Its okay for quick pick ups but not to handle ypur regular vacuuming

A lot of power for a small vacuum.you have to empty it alot but it is powerful.

I'm very happy with my purchase. This is the best cordless vacuum I've ever had. Holds its battery for a long time, sucks up even the smallest Speck of dirt. it's light, inconspicuous and does the job in seconds.! I highly recommended!!!!

it's working fine but after 1 and half years almost nearly to 2 years of warranty completion, my vacuum machine is not functioning properly. I cleaned everything inside as well as the filter but had no luck and it stops when vacuumed the floor.

Best vacuum I have ever had! Lightweight and easy to empty dirt. Easy to use on wood floors and carpet. Easy to move around corners and furniture! LOVE MY DYSON!!

Love this Dyson vacuum stick. Had an earlier version of this and this new one seems to have better suction and is way quieter than the earlier model. My only reservations from giving it a 5 star was the price is pretty steep.
