Every little detail is thought out, from the hanging mount, so the swivel radius, to the emptying mechanism. Never going back to another cheap stick vacuum.

Expected Better!

For the price and the name Dyson I expected a high performing vacuum. What I got was a vacuum that has poor battery life (15 minutes on max power) and pushes debris like cat litter around on the hardwood floors. The battery is built in to the unit so you can't even have a spare handy. It also takes about 90 minutes to fully charge. I'm sure I could have spent less on a different name and got the same results. Sorry Dyson but this needs improvement and is a huge thumbs down for me.

Posted .Hello Tammy, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry that you've had a disappointing experience thus far with your V8 Animal Cord-Free. We wouldn't expect you to get 15 minutes of run time while using MAX. This mode is intended for more stubborn messes or larger debris, and will give just about 7 minutes of run time. While using regular suction mode, you'll get up to 30-40 minutes of run time, depending on if you are using one the motorized floor tool.
With regard to the battery, this machine does have a battery that is held in place with smaller screws. We do not recommend repeated removal of this battery, as it can cause the screws to strip over time. You'll be happy to know that some of our new models (V11 and up) do offer a click-in battery and many have the option to purchase a back-up battery so you always have one ready to go.

Really the best feature is how convenient it is to just grab it off the wall mount and run through some high traffic areas. We still use our full-size Dyson for whole house cleaning but this gets used several times a week!

I like this vacuum for that purpose, but if take off the stick portion and try to use it the fan on the side of the unit blows the dust and dirt around really bad. It also does not like some of my area rugs very well. For quick clean ups, it works great.
