After my first appointment was canceled with short notice, a subsequent appointment was not for another 10 days. A third party service arrived and after 3 minutes in the house told me they could do nothing. I am contesting the charge and still have not had a service call after visiting store 3 times.

It is cordless, but when I used on the second day, I felt my hand was electric shock. My son tried and had the same. Now I had to wear a glove to use, but sometime it still went through the glove.

What you described is a build up of static electricity. This can occur when the brushhead/tool moves back and forth over certain surfaces. Using a dryer sheet to wipe down the machine can help dissipate any static build up.

Does a great job in all areas. Of course, the could make the batteries interchangeable like all cordless tools they would just prefer to sell you another vacuum. That's why only 3 stars

I am happy to hear how pleased you have been with the performance of your vacuum, thus far in your use. Dyson V8 Animal cordless is a hassle-free vacuum with powerful suction. The powerful direct-drive cleanerhead removes ground-in dirt and pet hair from carpets, and self-adjusts to pick up dirt and debris from your bare floors.
In regards to your inquiry, I am happy to inform you that the V8 battery can be changed in the future, in the rare event that it is ever needed. This vacuum was not intended for the battery to be change out regularly, however, if you would choose to do so, it is something that can be done by removing two screws which hold the battery securely in place.

Did not compare to the power of my animal Dyson that is wired.

Posted .Hello Riks, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the run time of your V8 Animal, in max power mode. Your vacuum will come with standard and Max power modes. Our cordless models also have a run-time enhancing light touch trigger which ensures battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed. In Max power run time will be up to 7 minutes, and in standard power, you can expect run times of up to 30-40 minutes depending on which tool or attachments you are using. Having a shorter run time does sound unusual, and we'd value the opportunity to go over your machine with you.

V8 Animal

I thought it would be great for my tiled floors but it works awesome on the carpet too. I will never stop buying from Dyson.

Totally worth it, it works great on our carpet, tile and hardwood floors. Also used it on our car (we have a 2.5 year toddler), get taken care of everything with ease. A huge upgrade from our previous vacuum!
