    I have the 1st generation stick which I love. But this new V8 is the most fantastic vacuum I’ve ever owned, picks up everything.

    We spent a good amount of money for this vacuum and a good amount of time charging it. I was unaware of the very low battery life-- on a full charge it only lasted 7 minutes. It works well for vacuuming like my other dyson products, but the battery is miserable.

      We're sorry to hear of your frustrations with the run time. The Dyson V8 Animal provides up to 40 minutes of run time, depending on the mode used. It comes with two modes: powerful suction mode and max mode. Out-the-box, the machine may be set to max mode. Max mode is created to be a temporary boost of power for particularly stubborn messes, and provides up to 8 minutes of total run time. The powerful suction mode is ideal for the majority of cleaning tasks.

    It picks up the litter very nicely. My issue is with the unload. It's a bit awkward but once you get used to it it's ok.

    Love it to do quick vacuums to pick of hair and use on upholstery. I wish I got the head that could also pick up small hard pieces like litter, seeds, leaves, etc

    For the cost of this vacuum it dies quick! I can only vacuum a couple rugs before I need to charge it again

      Hello Mary, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to learn that you've found the battery life to be so short in your Dyson V8 Animal cord-free. Your vacuum will come with standard and Max power modes. Our cordless models also have a run-time enhancing light touch trigger which ensures battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed. In Max power run time will be up to 7 minutes, and in standard power, you can expect run times of up to 30-40 minutes depending on which tool or attachments you are using.
