      Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Generally speaking, our cordless models provide the most efficient household clean, and are able to effectively clean every floor surface. This is due to the adjustable suction power that these machines offer. Right out of the box, your vacuum is set to MAX suction mode. This mode does provide less run time, but also gives a powerful boost of suction for more stubborn messes or larger debris. Placing the machine in to regular mode does lessen the suction, but also makes vacuuming carpeting easier.

    Had to replace a 5 year old dc59. The V8 is a better design and stronger with a longer run time. I like it!

    Good product. My wife has owned these vacuums but they are delicate and the motor or some function around the motors go bad often. We originally purchased 3 of them for each floor in the home and under 2 years one broke and now under 3 years a second one broke. The motors went bad.
