Had to return in store, unfortunately. There are cheaper alternatives with the same function. Was even told by Best Buy that people return this because of battery issues.

The cordless feature is nice but it lacks in suction compared the shark I had previously. I went with the dyson because I've heard good things. Would go back to a shark if I could do it over again. It works the best on hard surfaces but not as much with carpets.

Since then I have gone through several other vacuums that lose their suction after a few use. But not Dyson, it is a great vacuum that is worth its value. If you are on the fence, buy one, try it, and you will fall in love with it.

The V8 is not as powerful as the Ball, but it is almost on par with the hyper full power switch. It is also light weight and easy to move around, it have been our go to vacuum for small job clean up.

Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Your Dyson V8™ cordless offers two powerful suction modes - regular and MAX. MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool). This definitely has the new car smell so to speak. Amazing performance. Just make sure that if you are using on hardwood floors take the time and buy the hardwood floor attachment as well. You will not be disappointed.

The battery only lasts 25 minutes

If I had known, I wouldn't have bought it, my mistake I didn't ask.

Posted .Hi Oscar, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear you've been disappointed with the run time that your V8 Animal provides. Your vacuum will come with standard and Max power modes. Our cordless models also have a run-time enhancing light touch trigger which ensures battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed. In Max power run time will be up to 7 minutes, and in standard power, you can expect run times of up to 30-40 minutes depending on which tool or attachments you are using.
