Posted .Hello Chelsea, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to learn you've felt the suction in your V8 isn't as powerful as you like. Your machine offers two modes of suction power - regular for everyday cleaning, and MAX, for an added boost for those more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool). If you feel that your V8 might be malfunctioning, we do offer a two-year warranty on this product. Just reach out to our customer support at askdysonUS@dyson.com so we can help.

I have two golden retrievers and needed to get control over the hair in the house. This vacuum has made this happen with ease! I didn’t know what I was missing. If you are thinking of buying this, just do it!

I am almost 80 years old and my old vacuum is very difficult for me to use. My old one is too heavy and it bothers my wrists. My new Dyson vacuum is light weight and cleans very nicely. Have had it for about 3 weeks now and am so glad I purchased it!!

I have a dog and use this vacuum everyday on all floor types including carpet. Even with the small size I’m able to vacuum my whole house with ease. It’s much easier to grab this vacuum for quick clean ups than get out my full size dyson. I highly recommend

We love that it has great suction and two levels of suction depending on what you need. The battery lasts long as well about 25 minutes. We love all the attachments that came with this item. The attachment that allows for easier stair vacuuming is very handy and easy to clip on.

Need to recharge to complete the entire house. 7 months an after purchase, the shaft of the vacuum stick snapped and broke. Not impressed with the quality of this vacuum .

However, it is very good for quickly cleaning up spot areas or cleaning off the couch from pet hair before company comes over, instead of dragging out the large vacuum. I love it if used for that purpose. I do wish the suction and battery life was a little better but it works well for our needs.

If I could give no stars I would. This vacuum dies after vacuuming one room no matter how long you keep it charged. I’ve tried numerous times. Someone from Geek Squad was scheduled to come in to try to fix but never ended up coming. I tried to return over the phone but the Best Buy customer service via phone is terrible.

Out-the-box, the V8 is commonly set to max mode which features a total 7 minutes of run time. The extended run suction mode is ideal for the majority of cleaning tasks, while the max mode is designed for particularly stubborn messes.

Also, the wall mount makes the unit easy to store. The only disappointment is the change in the emptying of the dust/dirt. The older models were much more convenient and easy to operate.

I had to replace my old cordless Dyson. I had bought it in 2012. I have the corded as well. I bought it before the cordless and it is still working great.

Simply amazing!

I upgraded from the V6 because the Motörhead was always clogged (dog hair). No more! It even cleans carpets without sucking up threads and getting stuck. We have not run out of battery since we got it. It lasts almost an hour!!!! It is simply amazing!

Super light weight making it maneuverable. Attachments allow for use in small spaces or hard to reach areas. Brush speed is so fast that most hair doesn't get all caught up on it. Holds charge for a while.

It does the job well, however the dust chamber is small so it fills up quickly and on top of that it is also akward to disasemble. If you want a dyson it is probably better to spend the extra $100 for a slightly larger and easier to clean dust chamber

The suction was fine and it may work for some, but the head/size of the actual vacuum part is so much smaller than we have ever had, so it would take 2x as long to complete our vacuuming.
