    Beautifully engineered - once you figure out how to empty the bin - watch the online video. Had a hard time picking up a large pile of spilled potting mix, but is great with normal level dirt and debris. Perfect tool for cleaning up after mischievous pet messes, probably not the best tool for a large carpeted house.

      Hello Gabrielemy, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for sharing your review of the Dyson V8 Animal. I'm happy to hear how pleased you've been with the power of this machine, along with how easy it is to clean. We know that battery run time is a very important aspect of performance for our owners, so we developed a trigger that helps maximize the amount of time you can clean on one charge. We chose a light-touch trigger over an on/off switch to ensure that battery life is never wasted by letting the machine run when it's not in active use. You do have the option to place the battery back on the dock, or plug it back in to the charger, before the battery has been completely depleted; this may help alleviate long charge times, if the battery has some power remaining.

      It is certainly safe to leave your vacuum on the charger. The battery and charger communicate to ensure that once the battery is charged the charger will not overcharge the battery and will power off. You will notice during charging that as soon as the battery is charged the light located on the plug of the charger will power off. It is also important to note that it is not recommended to charge the vacuum right after use. It is recommended to allow the unit to cool for a few minutes before reconnecting it onto the charger to ensure the battery is not damaged due to being charged while still warm.

    Like the idea, it serves our purpose. However be aware of short comings prior to purchase. Does not stand on its own. The charge does not last long for the amount of time to charge. We use in RV, and does not pick up all items that are on the floor. Does not clean door mats well. Can’t vacuum when charging.

      Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. I can confirm that your cord-free Dyson will not stand on its own. The cleaner heads and wand do not have a feature to lock into position. However, the machine can be easily stored on the included mountable wall dock. It would be unusual to hear that you've found your machine to lack suction or have poor pick-up performance. Your V8 comes with two suction modes; regular and MAX. MAX suction mode provides an added boost of power for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This is great when you're finding a cleaning job more tough to pick up - putting the machine in MAX provides a boost of suction, but does only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction mode will give you 30-40 minutes, depending on if you're using a motorized attachment.

    We enjoy using the new Dyson. Replaced an older Dyson model. We have nearly 2,000 square feet of wood flooring and it works really well when we either of us “sweeps” the floor. We expect to get several years of use because Dyson builds quality products. We gave in an average rating of quality and value only because of the newness of the new device.
