It’s ok at most. The suction just isn’t enough for my floors. With 3 young ones at the kitchen table, this unit is used nightly. I use the power suction mode, which does the job, but it only lasts about 10 mins.

Posted .Hello Pete, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry that you've found the suction to be lacking in your Dyson V8 Animal. The V8 Animal features a direct-drive cleanerhead, with gentle carbon fiber bristles safe for any flooring type, but powerful enough to pick up debris from both bare floors and carpets. While the machine will offer less run time in MAX power mode, most households find standard power sufficient for everyday messes. When using your machine in MAX with the direct-drive Motorhead, run time will be approximately 7 minutes. Dyson Animal variants come equipped with a mini motorized head which is designed to pick up pet hair from furniture and stairs. You can also use this tool with the machine in MAX power for optimum pick-up, if you find that standard power is leaving pet hair behind.
