    We had the v7 animal. Comparing them both on suction the v8 takes it by a bit. Parts wise, they have and use them same so no difference. Overall we like this one better.

    Excellent vacuum!!! Performs exceptionally well on wood, tiles and carpet. It last around 20mins when fully charged.

    Work well except it does not lift pile in carpets if in walk ways like hallways, has power, seems to be in the brushes and there are no settings for brush height

    Does a great job and love that it is cordless and you can the charger on the wall. Just be aware if you use max suction, it won't last very long.

    I call this an all-terrain vacuum. We have hardwood, carpeting and area rugs. No adjusting necessary. It’s cordless, easy to use and the docking station as a must! We bought it on sale so that was an additional plus. It also converts into a hand held tool which makes cleaning the stairs, easy, dusting, and cleaning the couch. We highly recommend this product.

    Worked great for the first 4 months and then the bin got stuck and wouldn't open, so I can't empty it to clean it. I've never overfilled the bin and have followed all maintenance directions. Dyson said they'll exchange it but it'll take at least a month, and I have to bear the expense of shipping the defective one back to them, not to mention I'll be without a vacuum for a month or more. Not all it's cracked up to be. Save your money.

    No the best compare with other v8 and v7, battery dies faster when use max suction about 10 minutes I’ll be great for a small apartment or studio

      Hello Alex, this is Kelly with Dyson. Your Dyson V8™ cordless offers two powerful suction modes - regular and MAX. MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool).
