      Hello, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're glad that you've found the power behind the V8 Animal to be so sufficient in cleaning your home. Your vacuum, while smaller, lightweight and cordless, can still pack the same power as a corded vacuum cleaner. This will all be thanks to the powerful V8 motor which spins at 110,000rpm, providing you with powerful suction, making our cordless machines the most powerful cordless vacuums. Dyson V8 Animal also includes a direct drive motorized brush bar, which is designed to provide up to 150% more brush bar power than the Dyson V6 cord free vacuum.

      Your machine offers two suction modes - regular and MAX. Right out of the box, the machine is going to be set to MAX. This mode provides a boost of suction making it ideal for larger messes or more stubborn debris. This mode does give less run time - about 7 minutes or so. Regular power, which should be sufficient for everyday cleaning, will give you up to 30-40 minutes of run time, depending on if you're using the motorized floor tool.

    I've been a Dyson supporter since the original giant purple animal vacuum. Everything I've used from them has revolutionized industries of the products. This does not. The hole entering the main chamber is constantly getting hair stuck in it. Sucking power is minimal and stopping the power results in debris falling out. If you're looking for a tool to spread the dirt and debris around your house, this is perfect for you!!!!! I wouldn't even donate this to someone in need.....
