However the battery life is atrocious! After a full charge (4 hours) it only last about 7-8 minutes before completely dead. Couldnt even vacuum my entire house before dying. Completed my stairs and had to recharge to do the reset of the house.

Your Dyson V8™ cordless offers two powerful suction modes - regular and MAX. MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool). With the Dyson name and advertising which claims that this is a superior device, I had high expectations. What I actually got was something less, primarily less "vacuum" or suction which has proven to be inadequate for most household chores. It is now relegated to "dusting" tabletops and small chores such as picking up crumbs from the floor. I do hope that other buyers are more satisfied than I am. I now consider my purchase to be a foolish buy rather than a best buy.

Your vacuum, while smaller, lightweight and cordless, can still pack the same power as a corded vacuum cleaner. This will all be thanks to the powerful V8 motor which spins at 110,000rpm, providing you with powerful suction, making our cordless machines the most powerful cordless vacuums. Loss of suction can be generally attributed to a dirty filter or blockage some place within the machine.
