Battery doesn’t last long. I charged it at least 4 hours and only got about 15 min of continuous use

Returned it the same day. Not even worth $100. After watching countless videos of it we decided to give ir a try. Once here after letting it charge fully and ready to use, when we opened the canister for it to release the trash it didn’t close back.

This vacuum just doesnt last long as it should and for the price ot ahould last longer

Expensive product for its usefulness 30 minutes of work and 2 hours of charging is not worth it.

Vacuum only lasts 10-20 minutes and after 30 days is now "pulsing when we try to use it.

I was very happy with the way it worked for several months but now it won’t even hold a charge for 1 minute

Sure its great because its cordless but the battery charge is too short

Terrible battery life you cant even finish 2 small rooms. I live in small 2 bedroom apartment and this vacuum battery doesnt last for half of the apartment so disappointed i wish i would come with 2 batteries. Other then battery the suction is good cleans well and light easy to use.

Although the wall-hanging option isn't necessary, it's super useful for storage and charging. Even though Dyson has a reputation for being powerful, this is still surprisingly good at picking up material. It's also well balanced, which could be a problem since the brush head is so far from the base with the motor and filters. The only problem I noticed is the tendency to depress the trigger whenever I pick it up. It's also easy to dump, with the release lever on top so your hands stay out of the way of the dirt. Overall, this is a great cordless vacuum.

Not good at all. Will only clean one way when using roller. Batteries die very quickly

Stopped working after 5 uses. Just gives me a flashing red light. Sent an email through dyson help system and no response still. Hopefully they will get back to me and fix it as when it did work it was great.

Is there any way to get more battery life...or faster charging for this item?

I didn’t like the fact of it being cordless it dies to fast when cleaning up.

Dyson Brand was my all time favorite. I bought the vaccum for small areas. Charging goes down after clean a small rug not worth buying . Planning on returning it

In my opinion, Dyson has become known as the end all be all in vacuums. I'm not claiming they're the best, I just mean it in the sense if I ask my mom, she's convinced they are. Much like how Bose became the audio quality standard for noise cancelling headphones. They're also like status symbols; the commercial shows a woman pulling her handheld Dyson off the wall in her kitchen as if it were a fashion statement or piece of art on the wall. I've never owned a Dyson and was excited to give this one a try. I like the idea of having a cordless vacuum that's light with a lot of power. And while this vacuum meets those standards, it's flaws (along with it's steep price) keep it from being the best stick vacuum. Putting it together was easy, the instruction manual includes lots of pictures to help explain how to put it together, maintenance, etc.Note that you do have to charge it 5 hours before using it. The dock is optional, but I wouldn't want to plug it in manually each and every time I charge it. So that means I'd use the wall mounted dock, which leads me to my first gripe: location. Unlike the aforementioned commercial, I don't want the Dyson attached to a wall in my house for all to see. I have a small house and didn't have an option of putting in a closet, so it's in my garage. It's not a huge problem for me, but I would take into account the fact that you'll almost "need" to mount this on the wall before you purchase it. And the power cable isn't very long, so it will need to be right next to an outlet or you'll have to find a work around. The docking station leads me to my next gripe: location for the attachments. This vacuum comes with a long extension tube (to use upright) a large motorized attachment brush, a small motorized attachment brush (for when you aren't using the long extension tube), skinny angled attachment (for corners) and two other brushes. The dock holds two attachments and the vacuum would have another attached to it (I keep the large motorized brush on it). But it comes with 5 attachments. So now I have to keep track of 2 attachments that don't attach to the dock. What am I supposed to do with them? This vacuum is too expensive not to have a docking station that can accommodate all of the attachments. In regards to performance, it is pretty good. The battery lasts 40 minutes according to the box, but that's with he motorized brush. Without the motorized brush it lasts 25 minutes. If you were to put it in "max" mode it would last 7 minutes. I don't use Max mode because honestly, I couldn't tell the difference. I have hardwood floors with some area rugs and two cats. The Dyson did a fantastic job picking up hair etc on the hardwood floor and couches, but it was absolutely horrendous on the rugs. The motorized brush would just stop working. The only workaround I came up with was to get the brush spinning in the air and take a running start with the vacuum on the carpet and hope it keeps spinning. I also don't like that there's no option to keep the trigger pulled. It's really easy to maneuver the vacuum but I hate holding the trigger for an expended period of time, why couldn't there be a switch that kept the trigger "activated?" All in all, it's a good vacuum. But it's tough to recommend for the price. On the one hand, I love being able to use a powerful vacuum without cords, and is super easy to maneuver. But it's performance on carpet leaves much to be desired. It also bugs the heck out of me that not all of the accessories fit on the dock. If owning a "Dyson" means a lot to you and you can afford it, this is a great vacuum, but you could find cheaper alternatives with similar performance (more bang for your buck).

I've owned a few Dyson Products in the past, and they all do as they promise, and this one is no exception. Easy to assemble, easy to figure out, this is a powerful, cordless vacuum, and it delivers as promised. The battery life isnt that long, so you cant do your entire house on one charge if you have a large house, but it is perfect for smaller houses, stairs, spider webs on the ceilings, and for quick pick ups and use in your car. Its only shortcomings are no storage method, either bag or carrier for a couple of the extra attachments that come with it, but most people will figure out how to store them and keep them handy, and the fact it takes several hours to charge when completely discharged. If you are looking for a powerful, cordless, all purpose vacuum, you should definitely consider this one!

We have a dyson ball pet vacuum and really like it but it's very big so it's kind of an actual "chore" to use. If we need to vacuum something up quickly, it's kind of a pain. I remember the days of the old "Dust Busters" when cordless vacuuming was absolute garbage. After the hesitation, I'm really happy with this one. It's quite small and mounting the charger was really easy. The mount is pretty versatile. You can hang the vacuum, long extension and one of the attachments from the actual charging part. Underneath, there's room to connect 2 other attachments for storage. I would have liked to see something (even just a mesh bag or something) to store the remaining attachments but it's not that big of a deal. Using it as an actual upright vacuum is comfortable but kind of weird to get used to. You have to hold the trigger button while you vacuum so it feels a little unnatural. The trigger is very light and easy to press, so it's not difficult to hold and I'm sure, after some time, I'll get more used to it and it will feel more comfortable in my hand. I used the longer lasting, "40 minutes per charge" setting and felt like the suction was plenty for whatever I'd really need a quick, cordless vacuum for. I don't imagine a scenario where I'll ever NEED the super max deluxe setting. My favorite thing to do was all of the edges where the carpet meets the molding. I rarely do this with our normal upright vacuum because it's annoying to lug the huge thing behind and the bulky hose just doesn't make it a very comfortable thing to do, so I just don't. With this one, I just plugged in the thin attachment to the long extension and was able to suck up all the loose kitty litter that's been tracked into those corners over a long time. Emptying the container is pretty easy, now. It took a couple of tries because I didn't know how it was going to work. There's a big caution type of sticker around the container that shows you how to do it but I didn't really know HOW it was going to work. So the first time I lifted the lever and the top "filter" started to raise up, it gets a little stuck so you have to pull harder. I pulled harder and the bottom just unhinges and I dumped kitty litter all over the floor. Good thing I had a vacuum in my hand. My next attempt, I did over the garbage can but I was still unsure about what released the bottom so after I pulled the filter up a little bit, I to push it back in before the bottom had dropped out. This does not work. The filter WILL NOT push back in until the bottom door has opened. It's not hard to empty once you understand how it works. Just pull the "lever" it tells you to pull and keep pulling until the filter section comes all the way up and the bottom drops out. All in all, I can definitely see myself getting a lot of use out of this vacuum. Probably a lot more than the full upright just based on how easy it is to pick up and get a quick job done. I'd recommend it.

I love this vacuum!!! Works wonderfully and is very light and easy to manage. I got the extended warranty and 3 years later when the battery started to act weird I took it back to the store and they gave me my& back and I purchased another one!!!

The Dyson V8 has great cleaning power for every day use and when needed, a turbo mode. It's easy to clean and to empty the dust collector.

Battery only stays charges about 5 minutes each use. Item was returned.
