Best light weight vacuum we’ve purchased for home cleaning

Motor just died, exactly 3 weeks after (2) year warranty ended.

This item is unreliable and causes grief. Lovely when it works but it has a 20 percent chance of breaking down.

Not impressed with it at all gets clogged with dog hair,, That’s what it’s made for !!

I bought this unit in 2022 and after 3 years, it is still going strong for speedy cleanups. My only gripe about this unit is its short time being a rechargeable unit. Easy to clean this unit and just keeps on going. How I wish this have an option to put a cord on it so it can have clean continuously. Other than that, this is definitely a great unit. I even bought a dog hair vacuum brush to use with this unit and it is still doing great. I hope that I will have more life out of this unit.

Powerful Vacuum This Vacuum Works Really Good! it pulls up the carpet pile really well and removes stuff you didn't want to know was in your carpet! Couple things I want to mention. When all the reviews say the battery life is short, BELIVE IT! it runs 15 minutes on Max power (maybe, I wasn't timing it but it wasn't long). Of course you want to use "super Suck on the carpet to get it good, but... I can only get the living room and hallway done before the vacuum is done and FYI the battery gets really warm and its close to your hand when using the vacuum. Then I plug it in to charge and it takes about 5 hours to charge. ** NOTE dont plug it in to charge as soon as your done (when the battery's hot) cause it wont charge (the blue light will blink forever and your going to have to look up what the heck that means and wont be happy that you spent $400 on a vacuum and the first time you charge it it blinks at you.... The canister is small, in mentioned apartment I emptied it 8 times, given the carpet has never been vacuumed with this super sucking vacuum before so it might get better. That said the capacity really not that bad. The other thing that i didn't see in reviews is the size/length of the cleaning head its the size/length of a size 10 mens shoe. So it takes longer to vacuum. The Small vacuum attachment works really good on stairs. and it comes with a wall caddy. All and all I would recommend this vacuum the things I mentioned are really not that bad (nothing prefect), its light but I think my wife will complain about the weight of it cause it starts getting heavier as you use it. (good thing I like to vacuum ;) )

I upgraded to the V8 Animal after getting a dog. My girlfriend and I had a V6 Motorhead, but had issues with the dog hair getting caught in the bin where it was hard to reach. Here is what I like more about the V8 Animal VS the V6 Motorhead: Larger bin to collect dirt, longer run time, greater suction, easy disposal of dirt with new pull handle, easy to connect attachments with easier button to press, LED indicator light to show battery %, and it has a HEPA filther. I absolutely love this vacuum, especially on-sale at BestBuy for $399. This vacuum retails for $499. I recommend this vacuum over the V8 Absolute (highest V8 model) simply because it is a whooping $599 and all you get is the hardwood floor attachment. The only complaint I have is the run-time on MAX setting. It is still only around 7 minutes. That is why I rated this vacuum at 4 stars.

Want to return but trew the box away not ment for hard floors

Hardly used it. One fine day it stopped charging for no reason.

I currently own a V6 as well as this V8. What is nice is the amount of power this has and the number of tools that came with this versus my V6. I really appreciate that they've updated the canister dump mechanism. The drawback to that power though is that it's too strong for lighter weight area rugs. It gets hard to push on max suction and eventually the brush head stops. I assume this is an intentional design. Another issue I have is with the newer motorized head. On carpet, it doesn't seem to clean as well on the first pass as the the powered carbon head of the V6. On heavier rugs/carpets and bare floors, it cleans well, just wish they'd kept the old power head.

Product has been great. 3 years in and the battery dies pretty quickly. Time for a replacement battery.

I purchased this vacuum around 4 years ago, and it just now bit the dust. The battery needs to be replaced (20 second battery life, lol), but also, the handle part completely broke. The plastic part cracked, and I can't jimmy it back together to make it last longer. I'm kind of surprised that this happened, considering we used the wall mount to store it and took good care of it overall. All things considered, I still give this vacuum 4 out of 5 stars. -I love the ease of using this. It maneuvers well and rolls under our couch just fine. -It has really great suction, and does better than any other handheld vacuum we've had. The carpet suction is top notch, but sucks the battery down a lot faster. -It is easy to clean and lets you know when the filter needs to be washed. All the parts easily open and the bucket is easy to empty. I am considering purchasing another, but also have my eye on a couple other models from other brands. I love this vacuum, but really wish it lasted longer for the price paid.

Unfortunately this didn't last, i wanted to love it. It was light weight and convenient charging station that automatically emptied the trash was great, but the power, motor burned out. Always had an odd issue to it, charging life didn't seem that great either.

Great vacuum cleaner. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and I have gone through several vacuums that I have purchased on line, and this one has been the best by far. I paid extra for this vacuum and it has out performed the previous vacuums that I have purchased the past 2 years

After 2 years battery gives out. We rarely use it but in the beginning when it was new it was amazing I didn’t have any issues with it it very portable light weight

This thing is sweet and I haven't used my old corded vacuum since I got it. I also have a cordless Bissell but it was weak and worse than using a broom. I use the Dyson on the max mode so the battery doesn't last super long, but I also don't vacuum for more than 20 minutes straight. I think this is great for non carpeted floors but it can also do some carpet fine. I watched a video of someone just abusing it and was impressed. I never had a Dyson before and this thing is easy to empty and easy to maneuver. I love having no cord and would buy this thing again.

I LOVE this Dyson model. This is the 3rd V8 I've purchased over the last 10 years. I have 2 dogs and 2 boys and use this product daily--it is amazing on all floor finishes, dog beds, couches, rugs, etc...and none of the other models I've tried compare with the V8!

If you are considering this vacuum, just do it already. It’s totally changed my household and my life. A lower stress level comes from the ease of cleaning up all the dog hair and the kid messes. The amount of crap the cup picks up every time I vacuum is so satisfying to see. The cup is easily emptied. The head is so maneuverable. The vacuum is light and doesn’t tire my arm. And I don’t think I could live without the docking station in the kitchen, right where it’s most needed. The battery life is tremendous: I have a 1400 sq foot house and vacuum on normal, have never had the battery die. I only use max suction on special, needed occasions. The Dyson V8 animal is my favorite grown-up toy, and when it’s finally had its last suck, I’m going to be super excited about going out to buy another.
