The Echo Dot Kids is designed with parental controls and age-appropriate content through Amazon Kids+, which intentionally limits access to certain platforms like YouTube to provide a safer, more controlled environment for children. I'm glad you were able to exchange it for a regular Echo Dot that better suits your family's needs, as the standard Echo Dot does support YouTube Music and can access YouTube content through compatible Fire TV devices or Echo Show displays.
